Looking at pictures, you are going to have 2 main problems:

1. Your spur/pinion gears are exposed. Getting any pebbles in there will destroy them as they move. You are going to want to cover that up.

2. The bottom of the chassis doesn't look like it could be modified much to raise it. When you take off the shocks, do the arms drop down? If they do, take a piece of plastic like I did a page earlier in this thread, make some holes to mount on the tower and another hole to screw in the shocks. If you see the pics earlier in this thread (pg 2) you'll understand what I mean, and this will raise your chassis. Also... your drivetrain might not be able to still turn smoothly with the extra articulation from the height.

Depending on the track, you won't need to raise your chassis...just get tires and see how it handles.

Ah, Sir Miles, a few of my closest friends are Filipino. Very pleasant people, I must say. And MYMP is addicting... haha!

Glad to know that you have Filipino friends there. Yes we Filipinos are very friendly by nature. Especially if we have the same interest like RC. If you were addicted to MYMP , try NINA Rally race here in the P.I. is becoming very popular class because we only run mabuchi motor and 6 cells sub-c only (no li-po). And you won't believe that we the rally racers can sometimes run the same number of laps like the 2wd buggy and stadium trucks.

Another race clip.

That's cool you have such a big dirt track, and it has such variety... Must be fun to race on!

NINA sounds like the Sarah Mclachlan of the Philippines.

Have you done anything to raise your chassis? Or does it work fine with stock clearance and the Tamiya rally block tires?

HPI RS4 Rally has a lot of ground clearance. I even lessen the ground clearance for stability.

here's my feeble attempt at reviving this thread... should be getting an HPI E10 on the 15th (my birthday ) so when i'm finished and i upgrade to maybe a TA05, the E10 becomes a rally car

I wonder how strong that chassis is... I am going to hope that it is as strong as the TT-01 since the arms are solid and not very adjustable.

I just tore apart an LED portable lamp to make this. It had 8 LED's on it in parallel, and this is the result.

So. Much. Fun.

very cool i did a similar thing on my firestorm, because when its dark i can't see the carb. i put headlights on too. not quite as bright as my freind's headlights on his MT, but the blue internal light makes th whole car glow.

looks to be quite a strong chassis, HPI's alternative to the TT01. i'm going to drive it into the ground anyway

I have an RS4 Rally which I love. The only problem I have is rocks get into the trans case and chew up the belt occasionally. Other than that I love this thing!

I also converted a TC3 to a rally with buggy shocks so it has the same clearance and suspension travel as the rs4 rally does. This thing handles even better than the rs4 I think mainly because it's heavier and so it gets better traction but it's not without problems. Rocks chew up the spur gear and get into the motor.

My next rally car is going to be the xxx-s rally conversion.

Here is my TC3

I've been looking for a HPI RS4 Rally for some time but no luck. Anyone knows where I can find one?

i have my E10, with some incredibly simple modification (1 screw each side on the steering) i can get about an inch of ground clearance. how does the RS4 lengthen the shocks? does it just have a different shock mount?

The RS4 Rally shocks are longer than normal car shocks in its scale
