we use the smc lipo with a reciever pack. for the tekin speed control we let the reciever pack supply power for the servo and speed control. we dont turn the speed control switch on. 8 minutes is no problem and lap times are consistent. we use a 13.5 motor

This is not the easiest task.

I'm using 25g does this sound about right.
I'm using no additional weights, with the new RR conversion and speedpassion LPF speedo it's right on spot as it is

My lipo has finally arrived. Unfortunately, the last mee for the year was last night.

I understand that a 13.5/lipo is close to 17.5/NIHM; I was thinking of running a 7.5/LIPo combo to compete with the 10.5/Nimh.

I guess the biggest question is whether or not a 7.5 would make 8 minutes.

Are most of you guys running your servo flat or angled. Using the 1 cell lipo by smc with a receiver pack?

Can't wait to hear the result! here in Oz we run nothing but mod 12th scale, so to match my 5.5's rpm with lipo I'll be looking at running a 3.5, which with a 4000mah pack will be touch and go for 8 mins. Hopefully someone will drop a ~6000mah single cell hardcase on us soon and then I'll make the switch

I have good luck with Nexus......

http://www.nexusracing.com/product_i...oducts_id=2395

The pics are rough, but this is how I'm gonna try the lipo. The battery will be taped in, and the receiver pack will taped to the battery. Wiring in the Deans plug really sucked and will take some getting used to, but it seems to all fit under the body. The receiver battery on the side helps balance the chassis, I still have to mount the transponder up in front of the servo too.Tomorrow night I'm going to try it.

As a note, you have to take the battery position bracket out of the car so that this battery will fit low enough to clear the shock. I made some aluminum "feet" that I shoe gooed into the battery slots to position this battery. Jason, you may want to fiddle with something like that. I don't have the time to make 100 of them, so consider that idea a gift.
