ohh, sorry i thought of 3/8 instead of 5/8. 1/2'' is too big right? I was thinking that if you got the 1/2, it would be fine, since it wouldjust come out of the arms further? I dont like the phillips thing, and would want to keep it all standard. I cant find some anodized aluminum screws to put in instead.

No need to appologize. I just looked up your profile...you're at an age where fractions should be reasonably fresh for you so let's do a little refresher practice. How many eighths is 1/2? If 5/8 is "just right" (size of BMI aluminum replacement screw...and for full-engagement w/new tires mounted) you tell me if 1/2 is too big, too small, or just right.

See...that darn math stuff DOES come in handy Wait'll you get to roll-out!!

ferrarrimk13- If you are having trouble with the stock steel screws stripping in the kit, you are going to have MORE stripping screws problem with aluminum or ti screws... If you are stripping the stock steel screws, you need new wrenches, or the proper size ones... The weight savings of a n aluminum screw set for most 12th cars is VERY smalll, but the reliability factor of steel screws is much better, especially if you are just staring out in 12th...

An excellent point!! I weighed my aluminum replacement screws against the full steel set from my DB12R (excluding the 8-32 front arm mounting screws) and the difference was about 15g...a shade over 1/2 ounce. I wholeheartedly agree that for that minor difference someone starting their 1/12 adventure will be MUCH better off staying with the steel screws for the added reliability. Trying to save a little weight now will likely result in BIG weight savings (large assemblies falling off your chassis) right when you don't want them--during a heat.

thanks guys. Maths not the problem, lol, but since the screws that are holding the front suspension are coming out of the lower arm, shouldnt added length just continue to protrude further? i have no problem with the stock screws, but i just noticed that they were a bit on the heavy side (the 5/8 screws) and thought i should look around. I want to get it right the first time, with all the parts, so later on, i wont have to pay for it on the track. Thanks for the help though.

Jason Schreffler is 3rd in Stock with his DB12R and Paul Wynn and Leon McIntosh are in the B's of Mod and 19T respectively.

once the bird is over I'd like to see their setups. I've still been hunting for the best rear damper tube/battery/shock oil/spring setup for carpet. I think my personal testing has been confused by running 19T and 13.5 too.

J, or Adrian

What tires does the DB10R use?

Id like to have a 10R for some practice fun on the weekends, sounds like the car is simple, and drives really nice Which is what I want, I just want to drive the car, not work on it the whole time

It would be really fun to motor some gas cars down the back straight

No 12th for me, I never made it would to the carpet track, we will see if the 12th scale runs on the asphalt this year, I may still buy one

im guessing the DB10R should be out in a few months, so if you could wait until then, it might be a fun car to play around with, especially if thers a class for it. If not, then you can just drive it on the track, not under the clock, i gues.s

I honestly dont think there will be a class, It just sounds like something I would want, buy a practice card so you can practice the whole month for 30 bucks.... And just go out and run the car

A class for it would be awesome, but I just dont think it will happen
