That's great if we want to turn 12th into a car of the quarter club like TC is. I'm trying to get it to work without requiring a redesign beyond retaining the battery into the car. I don't want to buy another car within 2 years myself. All my 19T motors that we run in 12th scale here in florida, have also been in my TC and my off-road cars. 12th scale has had quite a few cars come out in the last 2 years.. adding to it isn't going to help. might as well be tc. Its way easier to work with what we have now - and if it ends up transitioning that way the natural cycle of wear and tear will help take care of it. anyways i'm starting a thread in the forum for this type of stuff so we can clean this up..

The camera almost won! This car sitting here weighs 13.1 without the body. The sheet aluminum rear pod did not enjoy being folded, so I will reconsider specific bulkheads and likely a stock upper plate. Since the rear tires do not wear hardly at all, I chose not to use ride height spacers... should put something in, though. The lipo is a 1550mah from Max Amps (little plug there) and the Mamba equipment should be recognizable to many. I just installed a 5.4kv motor. I will roll it out around a 1:1.07" for starters to see what happens and go from there. The goal is to make 8 minutes without doing wheelies.

Interesting layout brian. I will see if i can do this with minimal modifications to the existing car. I would like to be able to do minor change. I am not a believer in the new car every year either. Small improvements are tolerable but the way i look at it, If you need to release a new car every year, you need to start spending more time developing and testing before releasing.

I really dont believe any of the companies including myself will release a car using 380 size motors. It would require a complete new car. I want to see how it works for myself to answer the questions about this topic and also for my own piece of mind. 1/12th is really the only stable class at this time and the cars work really well with the existing layouts. We are not having runtime issues, overheating motor issues,or any of the problems that are being found in the TC market. TC is struggling to stay alive while 1/12th is on the rise. There is no doubt in my mind that lipo or some other cells will take over our existing packs soon so i want to be able to adapt to running the car that way. It may require adding some weight. We are all overweight anyway so maybe we can add weight to get back to the minimum weight and not hurt the handling of the car.

I will keep you guys posted on my findings

It's also likely we will have a good supply of NiMh batteries for a few years yet so there is no need for ROAR to go adopting LiPo in 1/12th any time soon. But it is better to be proactive rather then reactive and seeing the changes occur in other classes gives us that chance to be proactive and start looking at what will work best for the future.

Very true. I will be picking up a 7.4v lipo and doing my testing with that. I think if we go that route and a slower motor,it will work out better than the 3.7.

Jason this thing is a work of art!

I haven't touched 1/12th since my 12L2 and jeebus has it changed...I still have my mantra that these are the most complicated simple cars on earth

I saw the pics a few posts up and I think Kokam has a soft pack that will fit in there quite nicely. I'm heading over to Ike's in the morning with the car to see what I can squeeze in there. If you have any heads up stuff let me know.

I should have mine LiPo/BL powered by Sunday, or at least have the pack dimensions to work with, my wallet might not let me LiPo my car out yet

I wanted to let you guys know that i have started running the new Prism rear inner wheel stiffeners today. They will be available in medium and hard to fine tune to your liking. They will be making there 1st appearance at the snowbirds next week. This should help shed that extra traction.
