Here are some pics to go with Jason's Rear suspension description. They are from the instruction manual.

Is there anything like that on the DB12R or will it always come perfectly drilled? I assume the latter cuz the car just looks perfect
Yes, that's what I was trying to understand. But I understand it now. I don't think the DB12R has as much side to side roll as a spring car so the movement is probably much smaller and won't reach a binding point. It's almost like the L-bars are working like a sway bar kinda like the old Composite Craft Lynx II pan car limiting roll to make the car rotate without sacrificing side and forward bite.

when you get a chance to take a look, you will see there is no bind point.it will roll until it bottoms out which far exceeds the necesary travel.it works very smoothely and is more progressive than the coil springs.this is why i never did like the coil springs.all rear suspension on pan cars work with pivots, spring tension and side dampening, this is the way i found for it to work effectively with no sacrifice.there are too many flaws in other methods i have seen.

Agreed. I'm thinking your car is the right blend between the spring and t-bar designs. Anyhow, can't wait to take a look at it today at 301.

will this cause alignment problems if you need to buy a new chassis or lower pod plate, since it's not bing cut at the same time? I don't think that it would since the equipment is very accurate, but I wonder

Where's the UPS guy with my kit??? Florida to Arizona can be done in 2 days right?

Janson,
can you pm me the tracing number... I'd call but my cell battery is low.

Thanks,
E

my guess is what jason is saying is that each piece is cut in one shot. so that the piece is not remove and then re-install in the machine. there is almost no way to clamp the part back into the machien in "exactly" in the same spot.

I can say without any doubt that APEX now understands the car and it's unique concept of this car....

It's money....

The chassis are cut on a big CNC vertical mill (see pic below). Every chassis is identical.

Its pretty sweet. Jason is really big on asthetics. Anyone can design a rear pod. The trick is making it function AND look like a piece of art. He spends a lot of time making small changes to angles and curves on the chassis and alloy parts to make the complete car flow together visually.

Has anyone weighed their car with a brushed set-up yet? Just curious

And I bet if Jason could find gun metal grey fiberglass L plates, he would have done that too just match all the rest......

Do you know if BMI has plans to make caster blocks in aluminum anodized the same color as the rest of the car? I want to know before I buy the CRC ones, so I can wait.
