ok, then I will keep the thread going by my dumb questions... so again regarding the Prism's - if the compound is the same, but it has bigger rim, then how it affects my setup? Must I keep the tire diameter bigger? For example, if the basic setup says double pink front 1,75'', then if I'm using the old dbl pinks what should be the approx. diameter? Hope you guys understood my question

Either way you look at it, your tire diameter is going to be 1.75"

Thanks! But then what's the deal with rim diameter? Just a bling?

Some bling but it affects the stiffness of the entire wheel/rubber assembly. You want a stiff portion out at the end of the wheel so the wheel does not deform and roll your tire under or chunk. As you move towards the center of the car, you want the rim to be somewhat flexible because thats where your wheel patch is. You want to maximize your wheel patch so you can run a harder compound without being too hard where you wont have enough grip.

Sorry if its a bad explaination. I think I have the case of the Fridays and I wanna get out of the office ASAP

Your ride and tuning is different if you have two sets of Jaco Pink with same outside diameter foam and the inside rim diameter is different. The new rims with the larger diameter would result in less traction roll, chunked tires because this tire has a sidewall which is now smaller.

I am just a club racer but some one else could go into better detail on the change in rim size would effect overall handling.

I used a few sets of CRC pro cuts last year.

The nice thing i have found with the big wheel is that you can run the tire a little bigger than you would with the small wheel with less foam on the wheel. The plus to this is that you will have less sidewall flex from the foam while still maintaining forward traction with the bigger diameter.

Is there some type of setup station for 12th scales that measures camber, toe-in/out, tweak, and maybe even steering throw geometry? I know there is tweek stations and such. I remember seeing this thing this guy had one time at a race that kinda did everyting listed. It was something a group of guys made it a long time ago.

Just curious..

For those going to the IIC race in Las Vegas, Ampdraw Hobbies will be carrying the DB12R and a full line of support parts. If anyone is in need of parts, be sure to look them up.
