Hey guys,

Slight problem here. I was putting together my DB12RR, (I'm using a Speed Passion Stock Club ESC, a Spektrum SR300, a Spektrum Dual Regulator, and an Rx pack, as well as a Reedy 1s battery) and whenever I turn on the switch for the receiver pack, everything turns on and the Rx pack powers the whole vehicle. Not sure if this is due to a wiring error caused by me, or if something is wrong with one of the electronics. Leaning towards an error by me. Has anyone ran into this before or know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Most of the new ESCs today will sense power coming from the receiver and turn themselves on. The receiver pack will power the servo, the receiver, and the ESC. So long as it isn't powering the motor you probably have it wired right.

a rx pack can turn on the esc, some of the older ones that do not have a 1s application you cannot turn on the esc as you will fry it

Even with the main pack plugged in though, there was barely any power going to the motor, which makes me think that it's running off the Rx pack still

Do you have the RX pack wired to the ESC or plugged directly into the RX?

Sounds right then...It couldn't be powering the motor through the RX. Remember your only putting 3.7v to the motor so it isn't going to sound like a rocket.

This was REALLY slow though. This is my first 1/12 scale, but I'm pretty sure that it shouldn't be that slow.

Also, on the 1/12 forum, Lonny said that the Rx pack should go directly into the Rx, so I don't know if that may be a problem...

I have it plugged in to the regulator, which is plugged into the Rx. Is that wrong?

you don't indicate what the receiver pack is lipo or nimh? it matters

you don't indicate what the instructions for speedpassion say. some ESC's can run off the receiver pack, and others need to have the 'red' wire lifted from the plug.

if the motor is turning VERY slowly it is suspicious that the ESC may be powered by the receiver pack.
