2 sets of 4 spacers came with the kit; one set being thicker then the other. My understanding is that you use these to adjust the height of the front end. Being that I will be using new tyres, I placed the thicker set between the deck and the lower arm. However, the screw protrudes through the top of the arm by about an eigth of an inch.

Do I need to double up on the spacers or cut the screws? Or have I built he front end wrong?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
With the stock spacers, you will need 1 thick and 1 thin shim under each pad to achieve the stock height. Raising your ride height will require adding or removing shims. stock shims are for real small tires so you will need to add some washers. Or you can pick up some of our aluminum shims as mentioned.

Thanks guys, I'll order me a set of shims. Out side of that one little problem, not a bad kit 2 assemble.

May I suggest adding an additional page to the manaul, containing basic set up changes and how they are likely to affect the car. Would be very useful to a newby like me.

I appreciate that you can check the forums for info; but when you try and search a thread that has over a hundred pages its a bit of hit and miss when trying to find specific info.

Thanks again, can't wait to run it.

Thanks for the input. I will put something together for the kits or at least an explination of setup on the website.

Eric,

Here is a pic of our front end shims. They are numbered 1-6 with 1 being the thickest. They step down in .5mm increments. The shims eliminate the need to stack shims.

They look great. I am assuming they were designed for the IRS arms since they are thicker. I am glad to see someone finally making a quality ship besides KSG for oval!

I would just like to add that these shims are almost a must have in my opinion. Stacking washers blows! With these labeled shims there is no guess work at all.

Do yourselves a favour and by a set of every size.

The AE arms will fit the BMI. The DB12R uses the IRS aftermarket arms that replace the AE ones. I would suggest sticking with the IRS ones because they are universal left to right so spares are easier to keep around.

Can the front end shims be purchased as a set (for all of them) of just in pairs?
