Thus the car was badly tweaked.

However, the good news is that the car was still driveable and within 0.4 of the fastest lap. The car was very consistant and if I did not have the broken hockey bar, it might be a different story.

Anyway, when you think the car is really handling, what more can you do to increase your pace. Maybe cos its my first time out with 1/12, I found the handling awesome but I just could not make my car that 0.4 per lap faster. Maybe it was that broken bar, maybe it was something else. I just dunno.

You ran the car with a broken flex plate? Wow, thats pretty good.

Next time out, take a close look at which areas of the track you need to improve on. Try to see what the car is doing. Once you find out,you can make the necesary changes. It takes a little bit until you get the car dialed in for any specific track. Once you get more familiar with the adjustments on the car, you wil be able to make the minor changes needed for each track quickly. If you were running with only 1 flex plate, you will find the .4 per lap instantly when you replace the plate.

However, your car needs to carry really good corner speed so that the motor isn't bogging down and overheating trying to get the car going out of the corner.

Besides changing the pinion what you do at this point is start making changes to the suspension. Start with changing caster (increase, decrease) and making changes with the center shock (stiffer spring/shock oil to try and free up the car, increase/decrease preload to play with droop, etc).

Oh, and tire selection can make a big difference in lap times, too.

Ok thanks I will try it next time when I have 2 flex plates on.

There really isn't much to get. The car is pretty darn tough based on my experience and what others have experienced.

This is what I recommend you order from BMI:

- extra pair of front lower arms
- BMI machined front arm ride height spacers (I bought the whole set)
- BMI machined rear axle spacers
- a set of thin and a set of thick flex plates plus the hardware to mount them (pivot balls, pivot ball carriers, screws to attach that assembly to the flex plates). This will allow you to quickly change the flex plates to tune.

Cool! And, like Jason said, you'd most likely shave off those missing 1/10ths just by having a fully operational car.

I hope so Haha... but 1/12 is really different from touring cars, had to adapt to a new style of driving. Hope I make my mark next race.
