Default LRP Quantum Competition -VERSUS- Keyence Zero V Extreme

I'm in the market for a top of the line high quality ESC for my 1/12th scale Bloody Knife car which will be running in a 4 cell class with 19t spec motors. I've narrowed it down to either an LRP Quantum Competition speed control or a Keyence Zero V Extreme speed control.

Which speed control is better in your opinion and why?

Help me decide!

Thanks

It is, a few guys at my local track use them for the 4 cell 19t spec 12th scale class.

only thing with the lrp is you need to tape the case closed one good crash the case will open and you'll short out the controller ,had it happen.

the keyence is the best i've gotten my lonest run times with it.

There is really no contest - the Keyence has lower resistance, LOTS more features and is alot easier to program since it has a screen, plus ive never even heard of a Keyence blowing, ive seen many quantums go bang in the past. Mine is aproatching 2 years old being run every week and i havnt had a single problem.

Ian how many people do you know who run quantums and how many that run keyences? I can only think of two keyence owners locally and that includes you.

You are guaranteed to see a lot more quantums with problems for the simple reason that so many more people run them.

Having said that I would expect the keyence to be reliable unit as the company's main market is for industrial speed controls not tiny little model car units.

The LRP's aren't that unreliable but they have no protection built in to cope with connecting them up wrongly. If you reverse the voltage or put the schottky on backwards they will go bang.

As for the resistance the difference is so small as to be irrelevant.

I"ve never seen a novak blow because the case has popped open and plenty of people run them ,if you take the time to seal the case on the quntum you won't have a problem and if you do send it back they should replace it.

KO: at time difficult to program.. I know racers that used these and switched to something else.
LRP QUANTUM Still one of the best for 12th
Keyence Zero Heard great things about it.
Novak GT7 I have a couple and works great! The racers that had the KO now used the GT7's
Nosram exact same unit at the Quantum. This is the original before LRP bought them out. Is you're in the US..get the LRP...you'll get Lifetime warrantee with it.. No warrantee for the Nostram in the US.
Atom good but discountinued.
GM SX9 good speedo as well... it better be since Masami is using it.

just my 2yens...

i have a novak gt-7 and keyence(just got it today). I switched the novak out for the keyence. the novak is going in my 1/12 scale yok worlds. So to comparte the keyence to the novak the keyence is summed up in two words "cool" and "smooth". this thing is ultra smooth. I had it set up on hte same profile as i had my novak and its just noticable smoother. I love this thing
