Default Speedpassion Brushless.

I believe they are the OE supplier for Checkpoint and MuchMore brushless motors.Not sure if its true but stand to be corrected.
Products look great but is there anyone who has used them yet ?

The comp series SP motors are manufactured by Feigio, along with Orion, GM etc etc.

no doubt there are some variances made to order by each brand, ie the Orion has a different lower half of the can with bigger vents.

I have been running the 4.5 Sp motor since the TITC in Feb 2007 where i met Wilson the proprietor of Speed Passion. The motor has a massive amout of power, though is thirstier than Novak or LRP, but is also more driveable. I know of some people who have ran the 3.5 and it sounds like a mack truck running around the track, very kool

They also make a number of other innovative products, and a pretty decent line of bodies, though some are very "similar" to other brand name bodies.

I've been using the SP 3.5 for about 4 months now. Never been opened up and still performs. It pulled away from a sponsored LRP driver using the new LRP 4.0. Massive amount of power, but as Besercoe said, it's quite thirsty. Making 5 minutes requires the absolute newest batteries if you have an aggressive driving style. And yeah, the sound is out of this world, sounds like a F1 engine on steriods

ive got a 3.5R but havent got a controller for it yet still contemplating.
I believe the sound is from the internal fan on the motor and have also been told its thirsty but more driveable.
Im going to be selling them shortly and havent seen much feedback or comments on them on various forums hence this thread.
Thanks guys.
What would be the recommended controller to use ???
Ive been advised that the 4 top units are GM, Novak, Nosram and LRP.

The new LRP TC 2007 controller, nothing else comes close. Every Pro uses it. I use it with great satisfaction since it never gets hot and has a ton of tuning abilities. But remember to turn it away from Lipo mode and into NIMH mode before you use it.
The Nosram version is the exact same speedo.

I can confirm this. Im using a 5,5T GM what is the same as the speedpassion but larger rotor/magnet with 6 cells in a heavy car and this works great with the LRP TC spec ESC. Yesterday we had very hot temperature with motor and battery also being very hot but the ESC was just warm and worked OK without problems. Regarding programming the LRP ESC also is very easy and drives very smooth if you want.

Havent actually noticed that.
I see on the catalogue its :
13.5 = 27t
11.5 = 23t
9.5 = 19t

Im getting back into electric and there is so many new things i need to learn about, its exciting and daunting all at the same time.
Thats why i like this forum, the best resource for info and the one place you can have the everyday rc hobbyist and the pro's rubbing shoulders

Brushless is definately the way of the future and with teh technolgy and also the emission laws, noise laws, oil crisis etc.... i see elctric brushless and lipo taking over even from gas.
