Don't tempt people dude...lol! Feigao makes 90% of all motors in the R/C Plane and Heli market. You don't want that to happen in the car market....although it probably will.

BL is not like BR motors. There is no Yokomo or Epic motor manufacturing monopoly. They cant stop China from knocking out BL motors (for less $$ than anyone else can make them) the way they did with BR motors.

Our track length is almost 200m.
We did some testing last weekend on tight asphalt layout. We geared as high as 5.2 fdr, and found around 5.5 to be the best.

Well... it definitely looks nice. Feigao has some style, I'll give them that. Their 13.5 is the best looking of the bunch as well.

GT one isn't the LRP replica?
Why GT could use sensorless but LRP doesn't?

Im not sure its 90%... seems a little high.

There is deffinatly a lot larger companies then Fiago in the plane/heli market

ESC looks good. when will I be able to get one?

Yes, we tested at Bending Corners Raceway last weekend and the layout was very slow and tight. We started around 5.5-6.0 and kept going up through the day till about 5.2 and settled around 5.5. I think on a bigger track it could maybe handle the tooth or two. We figured since it is listed a slightly lower wind than a 10.5 Novak we could start around there but with the talk of higher RPM we started lower teeth and moved up from there. Most guys there gear the Novak 10.5 anywhere between 4.6-5.3 with more on the higher end of the range (higher gearing, lower FDR that is). A lot of the same guys also test with the Novak 13.5 and found gearing 4.0 to 4.5.

I was told the that Speedpassion motors have higher rpm compared to motors from Novak or LRP...i'm looking to get a motor for my 1/10 4wd buggy, so should i go for a 5.5r or the 6.5r? Thanks guys...

RPM is higher but power output is similar so you would go wit the same wind. Most 4wd off road guys are running 5.5's around here. 6.5 in 2wd buggy.

They make all of Horizon Hobbies, Great Planes, HiMaxx, and a dozen other international brands of inrunner and outrunner motors. 90% may be a little low. Other than the Lehner, Neu, Orbit and a few other super high end brands they are almost all sourced from Feigao.

Hey Guys,

We've got in the Exige ESC, and we're expecting evaluation copies of the other two types any day now from SP. We've also got a 6.5 and 13.5 right now and expect samples of the rest very soon as well.

As some of you may know, I have a bit of experience in this arena, and am doing the testing in my own car. I've been in comunication with SP about a few issues, and they seem extremely responsive and appreciative of high-level technical suggestions and potential solutions.

The phrase "there will be no wine before it's time" comes to mind here... I have exacting expectations for performance and user friendliness that must be met before we bring in the whole line willy nilly and chuck it out on the market to see if it sells. The motors appear to be 90% there as a true build quality and performance competitor to the big dogs. We're working on those minor points as we go along.

The Exige sport ESC needs some massaging, but it has potential. As for everything else - I don't have them so I just don't know yet but I WILL.

I have a cautious optimism for this line, but they're going to have to prove it to me right off the batt, or allow us to help them improve them to my standards before we go after it headlong.

I'll keep you updated on progress as it happens!

Shawn
