Default thermal

I run my GT yesterday in pretty hot conditions with a 3.5 sp motor.
I would thermal at around 4 minutes with 5 cell.
If i turn off the thermal cut off how much of a difference will it make has anyone tried it yet?
thanks

You need to adjust your gearing, If you turn off thermal cutoff you risk destroying not only your speedo but also your motor. If you are getting to hot the easy way to adjust this is just gear down.

Sadly, MRT's is still a way off.

How much can the timing be changed with the GT's?

I had seen a lot of people talking about Speedpassions stuff, but I had no idea what they were talking about.

Then I just got the SchumacherUSA newsletter yesterday....wow! That speed control is pretty sweet. Is it smaller than the LRP Spere or about the same size? I guess I could just compare the size specs, but I'm feeling lazy right now.

I will also run this controller on my 1/8 truggy to see if really does put out what it claims.

Yes its the same in appearance to hobbyWing Xerun but Speedpassion version has better software and programmer as well as having better quality hardware.

i've run my GT without the temp cutoff...10.5SP motor and 13.5Novak motor. Works fine. But I also generally know where my gearing is. If you run without the temp cutoff just gear conservative to start then go up from there.

You might be a little wrong on this. The Xerun handles 4S lipos and has a burst of 720A. The program box is the same, but Speed Passion just wanted some other stuff written differently. Keep in mind that Speed Passion is a distributor and they can have items branded with their logo. I can have the same as well, but why should I brand something that is not mine.

I have overgeared my TC3 to get an idea of what the ESC can handle. I'm running a 79T spur and a 30T pinion. I just have to wait until the wheather gets better here in NJ. I will post data of the test.
