The max temp for all sintered rotors used in r/c motors is 200*F. These magnets deguase at ~220*F.

Most guys are running fast in the 130-170*F range depending on winds, ambient temps and track loads. I could see getting into the 190's on a hot day outdoors but hotter than that would indicate overgearing.

Remember, DO NOT USE motor temp as an indicator to proper gearing. Only your lap times will tell you if you are geared right for any given track.

also if you want to keep your temps down check your speedcontrol settings , throttle profile and drag brake , I run both of those low on my sphere and even if i gear my 3.5 at a 8.75FDR it doesnt get any hotter than 165 maybe 170 and that is with out any fans on the motor.

Very true Adrian My updated 9.5/19t is fastest at around 155-160*F. And this is with 6min heats that we run out here. You guys are gonna LOVE these f-en motors! I love mine & can't wait for my 10.5 and 13.5's.

OK...what's the SpeedPassion ESC and motor combo that will compete w/ the Novak GTB/PRO BL motors, or Sphere TC? Looking to run a 10.5 motor but need to know which is the Speedpassion equivalent to a GTB or Sphere TC [in other words, the all out racing version$$$]

The all out racing pro esc would be the GT but you could use the Feigoa for stock racing as well, major difference is it goes down to a 5T limit.
