SoCalMitch.....what should I do now? I'm getting very hungry.
If you can't figure out how to feed yourself there are bigger issues than the price of tires in Hong Kong.

Maybe I am missing something. I never understood why people complain about the price of tires, batteries etc. There are different options for everyone out there. Are you going to be paying a little more to buy team battery packs instead of club packs? Of course. I have to assume that everyone that comes into RC racing and wants to be competetive knows that equipment has to be bought and sometimes these things are expensive, especially if you want to compete.

I know that I spend a good amount of money on tires period. BUT this is something that I knew would happen if I got into the hobby. Do I agree with some of the gripe that you see in RC tech, sure I do, but i also have to understand that if I want to be competitive, i sometimes have to pay the higher price.

Just my opinion.

The customer is not always right, and I don't care if he has the cash. And customers that think that are spoiled brats basically.

The person that is right the person that does what is best for them at that given moment given the options at hand. Just becuase you dont like what he has, then fine, go on, does not make you right though...that is just stupid to think so.

Well I am always right, because it is right for me. If I feel that a product cost too much I will find it cheaper somewhere else, that is why I buy RP30s from Hong Kong at $25 a set.

I'm with you there, Mitch.

I see you've been doing your part to help drive SoCal out of business. Good job. Perhaps you need to be educated on the difference between list price and street price.

I would buy from a US company if I could get them at a reasonable price when I buy 25 sets at a time.

What drove SoCal out of business was poor management of a business, because from their point of view the customer was never right.

List Price: Manufacturer's suggested retail price.
Horizon List Price for the Jaco Rubber Sedan Tire Pre-mounted $45.00

Street Price: The sale price.
Horizon's Street Price $40.50

Ain't that the truth!!! I know all too well how hard it is/was when I owned RaceTech back in the late '90s. Anyone here want to venture a guess as to how many sets of tires need to be sold to cover just one employees wages, insurance, workmans comp, vacation, etc., etc. I think you would be very surprised.

By the way, I'm glad that you along with a few other have been able to survive in the industry. Keep up the good work!
