I think he meant "RP"...they're a brand of tire.

Okay, I am about to ask what some may consider a STUPID
question....lol

I have a rustler, that I want to run on carpet.... (See where
this is going?)

Is there any foams out there that would fit 2.2 rims?

Couple years back we had a "open" electric class that ran on a parking lot track (it was prep'ed) setup for Nitro's. We ran Purple / Plaids (Carpet Foams) or front nitro foams (35 or 37 shore). On the track neither tire seemed to have any real advantage. But one thing was clear, they were faster than the nitro cars .

Tires were run right out of the box, and lasted several weeks.

I would think that if traction were comparable, you'd be faster on foams...they're a fair amount lighter than rubber tires.

I have some left from running at Revelation's on-road track...maybe I'll try them out at the next parking lot race in a couple weeks.

All we ran around here for years was foams outside. They are so much faster than rubbers it's not even funny. The best way to go is just run Purple rears and plaid fronts. You'll be dialed!!!

hi guys....

before I ordered the Jacos,I figures I'd try the nitro foams...see if I liked foams in general......that is until I tried to pop a nitro rear tire on,and it wasn;'t even close to fitting,....it was hitting the upper ball cup......and by more than 2 mm.....so I can't see how Jaco 28 mm tires are going to fit....unless they are a different rim diameter...........

any ideas?...

Hi all

I have just started running foam tires myself, here in Colorado Springs the were running only gas until my two sons and I showed up. Now there are 9 ele TC's running. I have tried two tires so far 37 s GPR's and 37 s Twisters. after today's racing i like the GPR the best. But my setup may need adjusting for the twister's, Or gets some 35s and test those from twister

I hope that helps

what I ws trying to say,was that a 30mm nitro rear does not for the pro 4........so using nitro tires is out,,,,,and I don't see a 28 mm jaco fitting either(carpet foam)...

any ideas?..

i have been running/racing with foams on my electric sedan for over one year now and now at another track. the first track allowed it over 3 years ago because may of their nitro sedan racers didn't want to run another type of tire (rubber) when they also ran electric sedan. track is blown off and sprayed with soda. i start my foams at full height, rotate/true as required and regear as required also.

i currently have a set of Plaid OR/PU on the front and Cyan (OR/MA) on the rear. BTW i have run this combo on carpet...no chunking. they have been on the car for a total of 15 five minute heats/runs. they have no chunks and will be run one more weekend. if they make thru still clean they will be trued, then bagged, and used for carpet tires this winter.

with foams and 13.5BL or 10.5BL we are killing our nitro guys (who run 5 minutes). today the best nitro total laps was 28-30, electric went 31-33

i have also run in the front:
PUx2
Plaid OR/PU
OR/PKx2
Cyan (OR/MA)
Indigo (Blue/MA

i have also run in the rear:
PKx2
MA
PU
PUx2
OR/PKx2
Cyan (OR/MA)

IMO...just because nitro shore rated foams are used on asphalt with nitro sedans for a reason. one is for longer wear for the longer runs they do or supposed to. it doesn't mean that's were you need to start there with electric sedans.

think of what your would run on a 12th or 10th pan car on asphalt and do near the same on your sedan depending on conditions.

i have run nitro foams before, i never used the 30mm wide boats. i used nitro fronts all the way around just harder shores up front (42-45) and softer (32-37) in the rear.
