I'd question that weight as my IB4200s weigh between 428 and 433g for a 6 cell pack.

Yes, IB's are approximately 70g per cell, so 420g for an (unassembled) pack of 6.

Going back a few years, the GP3300 is rated as 62g per cell by GP.

Going back a bit further, Sanyo list the RC-1700 NiCd at 55g per cell.

OOPS! I made a mistake in my post. I'll fix it now. And just to be sure, I'll re-weigh them when I get back home. I also have a maxamps 4400mah saddle pack LIPO battery that I can weigh too.

I measured them last week using a postal scale accurate to a tenth of a gram. The IB 3800s I weighed didn't have any wire attached. Just the 6 cells, and the battery bars. I solder directly to the bars. The weight of the 6 cell pack was actually about like 422 or something like that, not exactly 420. The LIPOs were exactly 220.

The reason I know these weights is because where I race now has a LIPO class and I had to measured the weight difference between the two and added lead weight to the car. I had to add two full packs of lead weights.

weighing NiMh's without bars unassembled is kinda moot isn't it? you have to assemble them to use them..

tallyrc, if you were talking to me, my batteries are assembled. I just don't use wires, I solder directly to battery bars.

Anyway, I just reweighed them. I am using a 7001DX postal scale.

IB 3800s with just bars: 414g
IB 3800s with wires and deans: 430g
4400mah common sense RC lipo hard case: 246g
4400mah maxamps saddle pack lipo: 255g

I'll correct my first post.
