He must have been out to lunch. Last time I raced 27T 6 cell 1/10th I was 2/10ths faster than Paul Wynn with his mod sedan.

Congrats on your win...what can I say...you got me...but did ya have to post it here...damn! I'll be back...and yes, a 10.5BL wont do it...I'll try an SS5800 pro Novak Bl and some Lipo for next race...see you in a couple of weeks and this time it should be a lot closer...I promise!!

Thanks for the tips on the AA for my radio...and hope you enjoy the money...now with it you can get another pan car and race it with me

Hey...just had to make a point. Keep the "AA" as a suvenier and get that SS5800 8.5 motor. It will make a difference and it should be just as fast, if not faster than my mod TC...especially if you go Lipo. Order the Maxamps saddle pack, 5500mah...call me up for the next race and yes, I'll be buying some parts from my pan cars...I might just get that Corally C10X...does it come in CF chassis kit?

That was then...when mod motors were as fast as today's 19T BL motors...plus PW was running backwards

a few of us down here run them for practice...for racing standard rubber tires. Either way, the pan car just didnt have enough for the TC. Again folks, take a look at John Stranahan posts...w/ a 4.5R BL motor, he's doing 52mph with the pan car...that's what I do with my TC in my track w/ 3.5 motor. I just cant see how a 27T 6 cell pan car can run mod TC's speeds...I havent seen it. I'd like to and will experiement with some of my pan cars. I'll be testing my CRC pantoura w/ 10.5 BL motor and Orion Lipo's and see what times I can put down.

because pancars carry tons more corner speed than tourers.. only a small percentage of a track is straight away.. in john's posts there is also a video of his stock pantoura puting about a second and a half on a notro tourer, and an electric.. with his modded car, he is within tenths of the 1/8th scale cars..

just for fun i looked up the 2006 paved onroad nats results.. obviously they don't run pro10's , but stock 4 cell 12th scales were averaging 14.66 sec laps (33-8:04) or so in the mains.. the winner in mod TC was puting down 14.61's (21-5:07).. that's 4cell stock against 6 cell mod tourer.. so the full blown mod tourer was 5 hundredths faster than a 4 cell pan running a stock..

I just cant see how a 27T 6 cell pan car can run mod TC's speeds...I havent seen it.

Pancars weigh less, simple and no slop drivetrain. Pancars tend to show the bigger difference/advantage between a spec class BL 13.5 motor and a 27T brushed motor, than a sedan does

back in 2004, we had a racer with a AE 10L3-touring (190mm pan car with a sedan body) show at a track i raced 27T sedan at. he qualed 2nd in the A, I qualed 1st. half way into the race he was in the lead by 3/4 lap. his car being lighter didn't fare well when it came to bumping and rubbing in the turns against sedans. trying to work thru the backmarkers killed him. other than that he would have lapped us all 1-2++ times.

ready for this.....? he was running 4-cells and a 27T motor

Associated may still sell past RC Car video tapes. they did one in 1994. a section of it covers the 1994 IFMAR 1/10 pancar in France or Holland on a asphalt track. they ran 6-cells, it is very impressive

Keep in mind sometimes it's the track that limits the speed of the car more then the cars themselves. On our small track TC with Tamiya black can motors runs only slightly slower lap times then 1/12th with stock and 19T motors.

as well as traction.. poor traction does not suit pan cars at all..

Ok even better look up all the info you want on the ROAR site results section.

Most of you guys on here saying that a pan car won't beat a mod car have no clue to what your talking about , most of you also are hobbiest that may have competed in maybe one or two ligit high level sactioned events, also in pampers at the time(just born in the 80's), or missed the era.

I started racing in 1986 and have seen almost every form of r/c car raced here in this Country, with out a doubt the pancar is and will always be faster then any touring car wether you choose to believe or not!.

Also your arguing against guys that have been there and have run both types of cars with overlapp who actually do race. Here I pasted lap times from the last known race where both cars were at the same event with equal prep. The event is the 2004 Paved Onroad Nationals, Portland O.

Now note* I am posting times from World class drivers in mod touring against guys who I know are regular racers like most of you, From what I see if you had equal skill drivers the pancars would kill the touring!

Go ahead and debunk the Idea. But here is a little something else 1/12th scale 4 cell Mod for comparison!

Remember! 4 cell!

Fastest 10th pancar lap 16.6
12th mod 14.3
touring Mod 15.5

You can see 4 cell 12th mod with world level drivers is over a second faster.
The 10th pancar drivers were really regular Joes but you get the idea. The tenth scale car in the hands of someone that is competitive can out run a mod touring car.

Back in the hayday of pancar racing stock was only .5 to .7 seconds per lapp back from Mod pancar . So go a head keep thinking six cell stock is slower.

Sorry for the long rant.

Hector.

hi,

I believe to get back the popularity, pan car need new approach. Most of my rc time with TC but 2wd give me new level of playing taste. Fast and very responsive. TC with 3.5T brushless very fast, with spool we can do late braking and aggresive/earlier throttle plus with still stable in bumpy track. All this thing make pan car life difficult.

I'm really hope 1/10 rwd/2wd EP onroad available in the market.

1. Fully independent suspension
2. Fully dampered suspension
3. Similar setup feature with TC

This thing make 2wd easy to dail for track not only depend on tyre only.
