Rather think its time to focus & expand these programs as they are the key to regrowing Roar & this sport of r/c...

Spearating racers by age is not necessary. The best thing about R/C is that everyone can race together. Should we have powder-puff classes too?

There are already way too many classes as it is.

Instead, work the Masters, women, and juniors (or make up whatever other seapration you desire) into regular programs and award thess separately. For example, Eli will finish 5th in the Stock A and also get win the Master's trophy, etc.

That would make too much sense to ever be implemented.

Thats going a bit far...we do have Stock, 19T and Mod. I do think everyone should run together in each class.

At club races there should be a novice class for beginners. At any race level above that there should be no novice class. You step up when you are ready and when are you race with everyone else.

Back when I was younger I couldn't beat some of these guys when they raced Stock or Mod.at a National type event. So they've gotten a little older and there not competitive in the other classes. Now there racing in the Masters Class.Alot of the racers out there are in this age group and they choose not to race in this class.Others decide they want to race in this class- even if you raised the age limit how long are you going to keep them out of the class?I just want to race and have some fun with my friends.I had more fun racing in this class the last few years- the memories are more than worth it.Now that Masters is getting competitive because we age getting older -it's about time more respect for your elders comes into play!

Exactly. No reason to separate by classes. There are too many classes in ROAR nationals currently and racing is being watered down.

Powder Puff?? OH man.. don't get me started....

Totally wrong attitude and bad for the sport....

We need both programs and they will contribute more than another just Champion ...

They bring parents and racer`s who can help organize the sport..

The jurnior`s also become the next generation in keeping this sport strong....

Get it ?

No, its not the wrong attitude. What is the wrong attitude is segregating people into classes for the sake of making classes. Any event can hold a limited number of classes to not water down the competition. Why take away two classes for 10 maybe 15 drivers in their own class? Why create classes because so and so doesn't want to race the young guns or the older guys?

Why not, instead....

Driver A, B, C through H are all over 40 and entered into the Master's competition. Master's will be considered as 19T Truck, or whatever.... those drivers get a finish for 19T truck AND Master's in the same racing..... So now, Master's is recognized as an event, class or whatever but an entire class of a limited 6 is not used and NOW.. there are more choices for ALL racers using the technology and the changes into today's racing. IE: 13.5 BL, 17.5BL, Lipo/BL events... etc......

Just my thoughts... good or bad... this is how I feel. I say we need to make Masters and Juniors more important and its OBVIOUS by the lack of participation in the last four to five years that what we are doing isn't working.

The message behind this thread is... no matter how good you can become by gaining experience. The real difference between you and the person next to you is your age. If you ran organizations you woulda shuffled Jared Tibo and anyone else with pure talent all over the place huh? Those guys were just too good and dominated too much. People should concentrate on going faster and a little less on being a hypocrit whiny bigot.

actually no, this thread was created as a joke, it was a take off from another thread, thats why all the posts were a couple of days apart, until after 5 months of resting in peace someone chose to wake it up

and again, don't get me started on a Powder Puff class....

how wrong is that idea?

Women want to race only women.. fine, start the class at a club level... but in time, they will realize skills won't improve if you don't push yourself.

Racing is racing.. doesn't matter what age or gender you are.....

(sorry, I get really riled up on that one!)

...hey,

Instead of 'including' a MATSTERS class at a National Event...or a JUNIORS class... Why not instead create these as 2 NEW National Events with their own venue.

The ROAR Jr. Nationals - and ONLY offer classes to the limited Age Groups

and/or the ROAR Sr. Nationals (Of course the Sr. Nationals would need to be held in Florida or Arizona every year...cause that's where OLD people hang out) and the Jr. Nationals would need to be held someplace where KIDS actually like to hang out...

LOL

then drop 19t. even though there are so many people that like it, it is the motor that started the "watering down" and taking from mod and stock. oh and stock 1/12 also, its nationals, just mod 1/12
