Get yourself the 13.5 Pro and you will have all of the latest motor updates!

I've been confused for a while... Novaks got their 13.5, but that number dosn't mean anything, cause it's not equivilant to 13.5 turns. and castle creations has their 7700kv, but what does that mean in turns or novaks' standard??? It makes compairing brushless motors from different companies imposible, which i think they do on perpose. a little confusing

I agree!

If I wanted to go brushless, what would I use if I wanted replace a 27 turn or a 19 turn motor. That's my main reason for not going brushless. It is too confusing.

Is there any difference between the EX13.5 Extreme Sport Brushless Motor and the normal 13.5 with bonded rotor other than price. I know the 13.5SS pro is above but what is the difference in the other 2.

The EX13.5 is the same motor as the 13.5ss. They both have a bonded rotor. The EX has the yellow center ring instead of the purple. Virtually identicle.

The 13.5 Pro has the machine ribbed body and the sintered rotor. The Pro is a different animial with the sintered rotor.

27T = Novak 13.5 Pro (or any 13.5)
19T = Novak 10.5 Pro (or any 10.5)

They are not exactly the same, just very close to...actually, a little bit faster then 27T and 19T...just don't ask why they are not exactly the same. We have 19828492 debates like that just last week...

Charlies and Steve from Novak can verify that...but I don't think Novak will sell the normal 13.5 anymore (old style, original version I should say). It will only leave the EX13.5 (Budget and spec version of 13.5 BL) and PRO version 13.5 ss PRO (w/ribbed can and sintered rotor)....2 version only. (I hope)

And then you have LRP saying that the 13.5 is equivalent to 23t and the 15.5 is equivalent to 27t... Good luck, I will continue to strap in my Kwik tuned co27s.

So I guess a small amount of research before jumping into brushless is too much to ask? All it takes is looking at the data, reading posts about comparing brushed to brushless (there are hundreds on here,) and just maybe a little for-knowledge of the systems and their characteristics.

No, we definitely don't want you to have to do any research or anything....

Clearly we should all "strap in" our CO27's from the tuner of the week, because all this 13.5 stuff is soooooo hard to figure out.

You can only buy one motor right now, and that's Novak's 13.5. The Pro version comes with a sintered rotor (good) and the EX with a bonded rotor (bad).

I just found it amusing that it's "too confusing" to figure out which brushless motors and close to which brushed motors

All it takes is a few minutes of reading all the provided info on this site and I know there is truckloads of brushless talk to browse through. I could spend 3 days without sleeping and never read it all.
