i can get the keyence instantly if i want but with the GM i gota wait for it to arrive

TOUGH CHOICE!!!!!!!
:/~ :/~ :/~
now adays...everyone seems to go for the small technology...and doesnt really like the BIG ones...they are all good speedos....go for the one which you think fits your car...and think if you would be switching the ESC from car to car...if you are...then go for the v12...the keyence seems as it could change the wires aswell...but there are some small chips and other electronics which could be moved if your not careful about it....

Thumbs up

Mike F,

I have a Speedstar in my F1. I have changed the wiring config. to a 3 wire set-up with no adverse effects. If you are going to make this modification, I would suggest that you install new wire. You could also choose the colors that you like. Again this is a doable mod, but be careful not to use too much heat when soldering so you won't damage the circuit board or surrounding components. Good luck.

Hi Stika525 - thanks, your exactly who I was looking for, someone who actually has a speed star and made the mod. Last thing, it should matter what leed I use from the speed star, pos batter or pos motor, because they are contected on the board, correct.

What F-1 do you have?

Default coup pal

I personally would be wary of the m-troniks speedo's - they're cheap (except for their newer competition one's which are absurdly expensive), but I'm not sure about the quality.

I've seen one of the posh one's that didn't work out of the box, and many of the cheaper one's causing probs, although that's possibly partly to do with the inexperienced racers using them.

Shame, cos they are a british brand.

imataquito:
I've had my Zero V Extreme for a couple of months now and would recomend it to anyone. Ive had no problems with it and find it very easy to set up. Mine ussally run at about 40C with a 12 triple on a tight indoor track. The only problem with it and its not that big is that it comes with tiny little wires pre soldered wires on and tamiya style and bullets conectors. As this is a compitition ESC i dont know why that put them on. In the manuel it says not 2 change the wires urself but as long as u have a hot enough soldering iron you can do it fine, i changed mine the day i got it. Lastly it has a good "show off" ability, when u turn it on and people see "hello" across the screen that ussally say "what the hell is that!"

What is the difference between the GM V12WE and the XC? I can order one through my LHS for cheap and I think they are both the same price. I checked the specs on the GM site and the XC I know is newer and has a lower on resistance, but how does it feel and what makes it different from the WE. Thanks.

Hey guys... I am thinking of designing my own ESC for fun... just want to know what you think.....

I am going all out in simplicity and currently the spec is for one reason - speed and efficiency..... Looking at a lot of specs Vs reality... I am only majorly looking at the following areas:

Very small and water proof
Presettable Current Limiter
Variable drive frequency (in steps)

That's it! Now you may wonder why no other bits..... well this is because I am designing it to use with my KO Vantage Esprit II, so many other adjustments I can easily do it from my Transmitter....

Now as I am new to this scene if there is one on the market that does just that then please tell me which so I wont bother

GM v12xc is the same as we but the xc has 720 A peak we has 700 peak and the continous curent is slightly higher

now i have a question guys .... can the XC take stock motors ... TQ racing webpage says minimum 13 turns (look under daniz's name ofr TQ racing )

so i gather it cannot handle stock motors??? is this true ??
i run both mod and stock ....

I run both Mod and sometimes Stock. The V12XC works great on both

Mike F, glad I could help. You are right about the pos wire. It does not matter which one you use. I pick up one of the HPI F1s when they had that blow out sale on them. Always wanted one every since I got started in the hobby and the sale price of $125 was hard to beat.

save yourself the trouble and buy a novak atom or TC2. You'll thank me later.
