Hey everyone, I was wondering what is the proper way to dead short 2400 nicd stick packs. I can dead short using either a jumper wire or my Checkpoint charger. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you cannot and should not dead short stick packs. You have to make sure that each cell is discharge individually to 0volts. By forcing the stick back down to 0volts your actually reversing some cells. The right way to do it is with side by side cells on a tray like smart tray from novak down to zero then apply a jumper accros the pack and then remove and store the pack. But a stick pack you cant do this. A stick pack is also typically built with low end cells or left over random un matched cells so your not going to gain much trying to boost voltage on already sub standard cells.
