Due to our recent misses in release dates, I will say nothing more than it is coming and works great.

This is a good discussion of the different 13.5 BL motors, how they compare and where to gear them.

Thanks for stopping by with your valuable input. Shall we make this a worthless blog that the search engine will not even work on to find the information people want? Give it a rest already! OR introduce yourself at the next race we both attend and shake my hand. I will buy you a beer and perhaps give you a speedo to try while we try to resolve your issues with us.

I thought Tekin's 13.5 has been in the works for awhile. I'm looking forward to all of the 13.5's and am curious to see how they all stack up.

I got all the new hardware installed. Now running the LRP Sphere comp new 2007 edition with LRP Vector X-11 13.5 BL. I ran it around home a bit and really like the feel of this setup. Going to the track to do some dialing in right now. I will report temps and gearing...also I'm waiting for the sintered rotor, should be here Tuesday.

Here is a pic installed on my (fairly) new TC5.

Hey Guys,
I keep seeing people post about the Sphere 2007 version. So which is the newer speedo, the 2007 version or the TC? Is one better than the other? Does anyone have part #s?

The sphere 07 is the new sphere, it has no heat sink or fan..

The TC as a heat sink that is stock to the FET's and a fan

The 07 just means its the updated one with 8 punch profiles and all that...

First impression on 13.5 with bonded rotor.
I started out geared 4.8. At the 5 min mark on a 12 sec indoor track at 75 degs. I hit 170 at the 4 min. mark. I kept running and temp kept climbing. On second run I lost track of time for a bit and at 8 mins. in I hit 212.
(All temps are motor only ESC stayed cool ~ 105)

At that point I went for a gear change. Went to 5.4 and temps dropped considerably, closer to a safer area when making extended runs. At the 5 min. mark I was at around 155-160 and at the 10 min. mark around 170-174 tops.

At 4.8 I was bearly able to hit top end on the straight (if at all). The car was sluggish coming out of corners, and lacked the needed torque with IB4200's. At the gear change to 5.4 it was better, I was hitting top end at about the right location, and the top end was decent for stock class if not a bit faster. But.....coming out of the corners the torque still was lagging a bit. I hope the sintered rotor will help this, its not terrible but it is noticeable IMO.

The feel and predictability of this combo is awesome! Zero cogging, very responsive and a great feel to the throttle control. Tuesday the sintered rotor comes in and I'll give it another run no later then Thurs.

mine was wicked fast fast today with zero thermal or cogg issues. and i am running indoor foam stock with outsides temps above 100 degrees. i ran it as high as 180 degrees coming off the track and pulled everyone everywhere once i got my car to handle right again. by the way 28mm tires in the frt of rdx is a pain, haha. oh yea i pulled my fastest laps yet at 11.1 now i just got a lose another second to get to nashrcracer.

im planning to hook up the LRP Vector X11 13.5T to the AI Brushless Reverse ESC.

my question is whether are these 2 compatible? i know usually the X11 goes with the Sphere ESC so im wondering whether it will work with the AI BL Reserve?

I just bought a LRP 13.5 motor and may return it to the store. It's still new but have also found the motor I was originally looking for. Don't really need a second 13.5 motor right now.
