There are no 2 motors have 100% identical power output, even they are the same model, still there will be power diff. Also, ESC will causing performance different, so beside tech motor output, are you going to tech ESC as well? How about battery? Drive train efficiency?

Tech performance is just impossible in realworld limitation. Tech on construction is the only realistic solution.

Hell even handed stock motor race will have something like "damn my handed motor sux, yours is better"... HAHA

Well ran the 13.5 LRP today for 4 practice runs and then 1 heat....then we got rained out. The Great news is that it was NO Faster than everyone else there racing that was running BL and they were all run the Novak 13.5 with sintered rotors...it was pretty much the exact same speed!!! It did run a LOT hotter than the Novaks were but I think a lot of this is due to the fact that it doesnt come with a sintered rotor. No fade during a race and brakes stayed consistent the whole time as well.

So it looks like there are at least 2 options now for 13.5BL motors that seem to be VERY equal on the track. Maybe some of the guys I was racing against will come on here as well.

Eric,

I haven't been able to find much data on this motor - is/will it be available w/ a SINTERED? Cause if we let ONE use them - we have to let ALL use them.

LMK if/when you get a sintered and get to test that...

The motor is available now but as of now I dont think they are going to offer it with a sintered rotor. I'll talk to AE this week and find out as I didnt have one to try in it as this is my first BL motor......but man it was fun not to have to work on a motor at the track today!!

I had to order some sintered rotors for my 6.5 and 7.5 directly from AE for like $30 a pop. I'm also looking forward to seeing how the LRP 13.5 w/sintered rotor compares to the Novak. I hope they're comparable so another company can get its foot in the stock brushless door.

By the way, when can I buy one of these for $75? I don't want to pay full retail for a "stock" brushless motor.

I think the sintered rotor from the Mod will fit the stock as well...but havent asked or have one to compare yet.

I dont think anyone has them in stock yet. I think AE got them on Monday of this past week so they will just now be making their way out to dealers/dist's. You may have your local H/S order one for you or have your favorite On-line place order some.

I'll try to talk to Donn or someone at Associated this week too...see what I can find out.

I would have to imagine if we don't let them run SINTERED some will complain..and I would like to see THAT combo tested before it gets pushed into the system...and then find out OPPS it's MUCH faster.

EA – did u try the x-11 13.5 or Eraser 13.5?
Curious to know, what ESC are you using?

It looks like the x-11 13.5 is offered in both guises – standard and sintered:

It was the X-11. I am using the TC Spec Sphere.

The link you posted says 13.5 standard rotor and the 2nd motor is a 3.5 sintered mod motor.

I looked at the packaging and it says the sintered rotor is an option only.

You've gotta compare apples to apples I think. Sintered rotors are the only way to go with brushless. The bonded rotors wear out awful quick if they're getting hot. Good to hear the report though. I wonder how it'll be with sintered.

Yes True. I would assume that you'll be able to gear it up more as the sintered rotor has less RPM. It should also run cooler and have better brakes. Although I had really really good brakes yesterday.....more than anyone else there. But I was the only one running a TC Spec LRP I dont think it will make it any faster though....or at least I hope not.

I ran with EA on Sunday and agree that LRP 13.5 was dead on with the Novak Sintered 13.5. Glad to see there can now be some diversity in the 13.5 class without causing any issues.
