Try it. It should work. Try using the Airtronics crystal. My best friend uses Futaba FM receiver on his M8 but you can't use Airtronics receiver on any other brand except Airtronics, at least on FM. May be others had better luck.

p.s.
The receiver that came with the MX3 is fine, why would you want to use the Futaba? For another car?

It will work fine, as long as you use Airtronics X-tal.
Futaba X-tal have a Negative Frequency Shifting.

I too, using 3 Futaba RXs, 2 Novak XXL (for Futaba) and only one Airtronics RX that came with M8 that I bought years ago.

I saved all my Futaba RXs, just got rid of all Futaba X-tals.

Good Luck

Default Mixing Receivers with Transmitters

Guys;

Any brand of FM Receiver will work as long as the Crystals match the Transmitter Brand. Just make sure the "Shift" is compatable with your TX.

So:

MX-3+Futaba RX (Airtronics Xtals in both)
Futaba 3PDF + Hitec RX (Futaba Xtals in both)
