Can't really blame Kyosho for making the decision when the Orion/Peak U.S. operation basically wasn't profitable for years. There was enough money to pay for all the expenses but that was it.

Hey Rick, how about Medical School? Need a reference?

j/k -- sorry to hear the news, but now you can just wheel it, like during the SCAR days, and the CA state champ series. Remember? -- Briggs, El Toro, Thorp (Ranch), Long Beach, Culver City, Hobby Tunnel, Sylmar, RCH, Reno ( Sarel Van der Hinckley's land speed record -"Pull it off, Joel, Pull it off!!!) And how 'bout them '87 nats? Gawd, too many memories to recall.....

The end of an era, but hey, start of a new one!! Hell, you don't need it, but good luck anyway!

I have kicked around law school for years but my real home is in the R/C industry.

I was given an employment option that did not reflect my experience in the R/C industry and my 7+ years with Team Orion. I declined their offer.

No one wants to be the "Mr. A-Main Car Setter Downer Guy".

Good luck.

No. I had planned to attend racing an RC8, but they were not available to anyone other than the full time-factory AE 1/8 off-road drivers. I will be racing one in the near future at all the big 1/8 races from now until the Worlds. Hopefully I can do well enough at these races to justify an alternate spot on the U.S. team.

BTW, I am looking for an engine contract if anyone is interested .

Glad to see you're still doing things on your own terms, Rick.

Are you working for AE/LRP/Reedy, or just running their stuff?

Hey, we could sure use a new regular electric columnist at RC Driver. Pay's not great, but we can hook you up with engines

Hey Rick...from one ex-R/C compnay owner to another, you did good lasting this long in an industry that has been very unpredictable and has always had big swings in popularity. You have always been a class act and I'm sure that you will continue to do so. Any company in the industry would be lucky to have you. Not many others have the years of experience and abilities that you do. Good luck with what ever you choose. And yes, there really is life after R/C.
