anyone know the timing on the vortex 17.5 from the factory. im running against speedpassions and i know that motor is about 13-15 degrees fixed. so if my timing mark is in the middle what is the timing around? i know each mark is 3.6 degrees. thanx

Hey Im running a Vortex 2008 3.5T brushless motor and I'm having problems with it, Im running Foam Tyres,Cyclone Tc,5 cell, And a Novak GTB.
It is really slow(slower than a 7.5), and no matter what i do with the gearing or timing it goes slow and/or overheats either the esc or motor. Any body got some ideas.

has it been fully confirmed yet whether these new rotors cant fit in the older vortex motors & why? all you would need to do, since these new rotors have a bigger diameter shaft where the bearings sit, a bigger ID bearing, 3/16" (4.7mm) x 3/8". im sure it'd fit, even with the new vortex motor being shorter, im sure with a bit of patient you could get one to fit snuggly!

I plan to buy one of these new rotors, try to fit it to my old vortex, if it dont work out, i was planning to get a new vortex motor anyway!

I'm sure it is possible to make them fit the older motors (if you are prepared to do enough machining modifications), but surely it would be easier to just fit either a Speed Passion or GM rotor - which are a direct fit into the older Orion motor.

Gidday Guys

Is the 08 Orion 2.5T motor OK for 6 cell or is it only designed for 5 cell.

hi guys , was wondering if the 3.5 motor is faster then any other BL motors .
Does the 2008 version has an advantage compared to the olds vortex, i heard that it had some failures.
Do you guys run a heatsink with a fan on it with 5 cell 3.5. What gearing do you have.
Thanks

Old ver. need change 12-12.5mm armature get more rpm,
but new type too more rpm lose some torque,
so need option new magnet armatures for fine turn your motor o Ultra RPM or Ultra Torque Type !
& with lightweight 10g , size shorter so rolling motor endbell don't have touch road

Like RCMARKET said, the new motor seems to have more rpm and a litle less torque and less consumption.

Also, less weight and shorter, so easier to balance the chassis.

IMO, easier to drive and just as fast.
