Check the Speed Passion thread. There are ton of pics in it as the stuff just landed in the US last week.

The Speed Control (Speed Passion Grand Turismo) is the really big deal. It pretty much blows everything else away.
Wow, that looks nice

I might have to sell of the LRP set up to get this stuff! Hows the size on the speedo? Looks pretty small?

We have done a lot of testing and they are very stout. That said the testing was done with Speed Passion GT speedos that had adjustable timing...and these motors like timing advance...around 18.75* at the speedo.
Adrian,

The updated Orion has those solder tabs, and the endbell around the bearing is machined a bit differently so it looks like the one in the pics. It retains the holes in the can, however, and came with a 12mm rotor w/o a fan. It's possible it felt a bit more stout than the original Orion, but it was definitely NOT on par with the Novak. Maybe on a wide open track the difference wouldn't be as obvious, but on a tight, fast carpet track, it was very apparent the Orion was at a disadvantage. So, unless they changed something significant, like the stator length (height?) I'm skeptical that it can truly hang. I'm eager to see how things go at Novak, though. I'd really like to try an SP 13.5 myself so that I can be certain, but I just can't bring myself to spend another $80+ on a motor that would run a chance of being the same as the two worthless Orion 13.5's I have currently. :-\

Also, the updated Orion is still in three segments, with the center section like the Novak. Is that SP motor more like the LRP w/o the center section? Maybe they did in fact improve things. Anybody mind giving me the weight of the SP 13.5 w/sintered rotor? It was much lighter than the Novak before, presumably due to a shorter stator, or maybe thinner wire gauge or something.

Could some one show some pics of the internals of a brushless motor, ie sintered/bonded arm and can, and are all the 13.5 and 10.5 BL the same internally wise

Hi all,

Do the 7.5's stack up pretty well to the Novak and LRP motors or is there a similar inequality between them as there is with the 13.5's? Thanks in advance!

Is the fan easy to spot in motors that have them?

I have an Orion 10.5 which I've only had for two weeks but I can't see anything that rotates other than the rotor, and I can only just about see the end of that.

for one it sounds something like a brush motor and the rotor has a disk with ridges at the end almost the size of the can.

I think it is for 5 cell mostly. 3.5 with 6 cell is already very hard to drive.
