Radio Help??

Im either going to get a Futaba 2ER with no servo then get a good servo, or a Hitec Ranger 3 with no ser which is more money and then get a good servo for that.

What are peoples views on the futaba 2ER, or shoud i just go better and get the Hitec Ranger 3.

Thanks

i've got the 2ER, it seems quite reliable for a basic radio.

it doesn't do anything special and doesn't have much in the way of adjustment, but then again, it doesn't claim to.

i'm not familiar with the ranger 3, but if you're just starting out, try to get the essentials right - this being ESC, batteries and charger.

It sounds like you want a stick radio, not a pistol type?

However, Futaba usually are real good quality.

For pistol type, I would suggest 2PH or 2PHKA AM.

The Hitec ranger does have a few useful adjustments, like steering travel and rates (I think) - but the Futaba feels nicer in the hand, and the hitec quality isn't so good. I would go with the Futaba to start with.

doublest,

i used to race quite regularly at my local club, but haven't been since september last year, due to work

before that, i hadn't been since the december before that

when i started, i had an old Rs4 sport, although i outgrew that in a couple of months, and moved to the MR4

i once won the B - Main with the Rs4.

i think my kit is ok, it consists of MR4 TCR , 2ER radio, GM V12 etc.

so at the minute, i'm not doing very well

btw, i'm in bristol UK

our club ran 2 classes,

27T stock (TLO1 and m-chassis mainly)

modified , run to BRCA rules, only with an Orion Orbital 19D motor to control costs. also, the track was quite small, so it wasn't practical to go much above (below ) 19T

i did mod with my yokomo
