Default GT7 or Quantum Competition??

I need to get a new ESC for my TRF414M and I am trying to decide between the Novak GT7 and the LRP Quantum Competition. I had an LRP V7.1 in my TC3 and it was great so I am leaning towards the LRP. Any suggestions?

Why dont you continue with the 7.1? I also got one and find it's very good.

There's an on going rumour of QUantums blowing up. I dont know if it's true, if it's due to abuse or.... Anyway, the ones in our club, have never shown even a single problem.

As far as I know, the GT7 are far more adjustable.

What about the CS-Electronic Rocket Max? It automatically changes the drive frequency, depending on how fast the throttle are moved. Built in display. Rocket MAX

Hi guys. Greetings from Malta.

I'm sorry to tell you TC3 that Cole Tricle is absolutely right.

We started the last season with 4 of the top 10 guys running new Quantum competitions. Not one made it a quarter way through the season.

In fact of the top 10 in our country today 8 use Novak speedos - Cyclones and GT7s, one uses an MRT and one uses an LRP V7, having burnt out his Quantum.

The top 3 in the championship all use Novak.

My son and I use them exclusively, and have had absolutely no problems with them. They are bullit proof. Son Josh presently leads the mod National championship and I lead in stock. we both use GT7s.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

The top 3 fast guys around here all run GT7s. One of them was running a Quantum and out of curiousity swithced to a GT7 to see if it was any faster. Guess what, he was alot faster. Everyone around here basically runs Novak because of the LRPs quality issues they have.

Later,

I've had the quantum... blew up after 2 racing days.
now run the GT7...by far alot better than the quantum. with the different programs available...it is sooooo smooth for mod and punchy for stock..

I had a Quantum Comp and switched to a Novak TC2. I didn't really like the Quantum for Stock as much as I did my old v7.1. The TC2, I felt, was a lot better and I'm sure the GT7 is even better. It's on my list of things to get for my new Yok SD

TC3 - do you even know where Malta is? These folks were being nice enough to give you their two cents (just like you asked)... and you have the nerve to turn around and insult them?

You're just putting your ignorance on display for everyone... these forums were created for people like you and me to ask for help - and get it.

Just remember, you were asking for an 'opinion' - and that's what you got.

Go ahead and insult me, if you wish... I'm sure you could think of plenty of cheap shots for a girl who races.

I have been running the same Quantum since they first came out and have not had one problem. Every manufacturer has failures once in a while. If you look at the specs, you can see that the quantum has lower on resistance, which equals more power. If you need less punch, you can always turn down the exp on your radio. The GM SX-9 is also a very nice speedo and it's even smaller than the quantum. A lot of people around here also like the Keyence Zero V extreme. It seems to be a very solid performer too.

Okay, okay... I'll play nice. But don't you get sick of the know-it-all's who try to push their so-called 'infinite wisdom' on you all the time?

IMO those are the people who know squat (the people who are always advertising their superiority, that is).

Okee... that's enough. My two cents.
