Hi guys. greetings from Malta.

There's been lots written since I last came on RCtech a couple of days ago.

I have to agree with Futureal and others about Novak's second to none service. I will continue to use their products for that if for nothing else.

I recently shorted out a Tempest which I was using on a rail dragster. It had been running 10 cells and a 6 turn motor for quite a while and never complained.

Unfortunately I shorted it out myself, through my own mistake. I actually told Novak this, yet they are sending me another new one at stupid money - hardly enough for the postage from US to Malta. That's what I call service!

In our touring cars my son and I both run GT7s. Josh has won 10 out of 10 rounds to date in mod, running 10 turn motors in our hot climate with no problems whatsoever. I have won 5 rounds and lead the stock class with no problems. So there can't be too much wrong with GT7s or any of Novak's products for that matter. We also use their XXL receivers and Millenium Pro chargers, and have no complaints about them either.

I'm sure the products of most other manufacturers are perfectly all right too, but since we have had such excellent service with Novak products I see no reason to change.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

There a bit of a story behind my last post...

I have been running Lrp`s for years ( V-7)

never smoke one up....

But after running the same Lrp V-7 for years, I decided it was time for a new one .

When I purchase it ( 2 weeks ago) , A team mate of mind brought the The Gt-7 that I test drove . We purchase our speedo`s the same time together & installed um in our brand new B-4`s. I was awfully tempted to switch back to Novak, but decided I was`nt gona experiment & stayed with the Lrp.

Woal !! Sure looks like that was good call on my part....

People that are blowing up GT7's probably aren't running Shottky Diodes on their motors and/or are running mod motors that are overgeared.

just my 2 cents, it says in the manual you have to run a diode...i think.

Axion, I check it out & diode was installed . He was running a 12 turn , with a 20 tooth pinion...

His Gt-7 started to quit & start up again, than quit altogether...

Was he hitting stuff? Because i had one go out on me after i undershot a turn and went head on into a pipe running an 8x2. It didn't smoke or anything, just stopped working. I asked people who've had gt7's and they said the earlier gt7's (which mine was) had a problem with shock protection, so if you hit something hard, the stuff inside would move around. Apparently Novak fixed this problem though.

It's nice to see so many defending Novak, that proves the value of Novak.

For the record, I would like to clarify, that I dont got anything against Novak, it's just that their products never tempted me. But that's due to my personal preferences, it has nothing to do with quality.
