RC Racing Loses a Friend
Sad News -Joe “Flyin’ Hawaiian” Guerzon
This is something we don’t like to do, but since the RC community is one large family it’s hard not to. Long time Team Losi driver Joe Guerzon passed away last night. He’s seen in this picture with a smile from ear to ear, and doing what he loved to do. Jason Ashton, a life long friend, remembers Joe as one of the nicest guys at the track, which makes the loss even harder.

I am a local racer here in Las Vegas and this came as a shock to everyone here. Joe was very well liked in the RC community and he had a lot of friends here in Las Vegas. I have raced with Joe since I first started back in 2003. I remember being new to the hobby and Joe was one of the people that helped me out a lot.
I haven't raced a lot with him lately because he was doing strictly off road for a while but it was great to see him at the track (Cutting Edge Indoor RC)and always smiling, racing fast and helping anyone that needed help. Joe has always been a positive influence with RC racing here in Las Vegas and was a huge factor on why guys raced out here. I want to send my condolences to his wife and family and I do hope that his family understands that we are here for them and whatever support that they need.
We will forever miss you Joe, you will be loved in our hearts and souls and god bless you and your family.

Joe Guerzon was one of only four or five people I met in RC who was real and true. I genuine good human being.
My thoughts are with his family.

Joe was one of the people that being made me want to be part of the racing community. He was always courteous friendly and fair. If there was an example of good sportsmanship it was Joe.
We weren't close friends but he always took the time to say hi and offer help. I think one of the true marks of a man is that he was casually known by many people, who are crushed at the loss of him. Rc racing in general experienced a great loss yesterday, and especially in Las Vegas. It doesn't begin to measure the loss his wife and daughter have experienced. I personally will miss him and my prayers go out for Melani and Heather.
