Hey Robert,

We just ran our last carpet race with jack the gripper. It really wasnt bad bro. I ran the snot out of my packs trying to kill em in my 1/12th. I ran for 11 minutes and had no problem with traction. The car was actually very consistant. I think it will work out fine for us 1/12th guys. see you at the birds bro

I always go to the Rolex 24. It is awesome to watch, and the place is empty.

nashrcracer,
Sounds to me you are relying to much on the tire traction to do the work and not your setup. You need to realize we are running a heavier car at sustained higher speeds. I would rethink your tire choice and setup.
I've run Paragon for most of my RC life which I'm sure is alot longer than yours and have seen this hobby go through ALOT of changes and tire additives is now the next big change because track owners and promotors are getting to many complaints. It's time to think outside the box.

This week's race news:

'The preliminary sample of our new Snowbird 1st place trophy is on our site. It looks great! They are totally custom designed, and are equipped with logos and even some Florida flair. These will look great displayed in your trophy case, or anywhere else! Starting in 2008, we are awarding two 'Snowbird Cup Champions', one in oval and one in road! This coveted title will be for oval drivers competing in 10.5 and modified, and to road drivers competing in touring modified and 12th modified. Racers results in their two classes will be used. Xtreme RC Cars magazine is going to help promote the 2008 'Snowbird Cup Champion' by featuring them and their cars in the magazine, giving extra press and recognition to the winning racer and their sponsors! Thanks a ton Xtreme - this is going to be great!'

I am heading north to the Open Wheel Champs by Custom Works... hope to be on-line there. CYA!

Paragon for life peace out.
This goes with what Nash has to say. No paragon brings up the issue of tampering with the traction compound. I know for a fact that a well-known 1/12th team has used extra additives in Jack the Gripper (tire tweak) when that was the control compound . Of course with paragon there is no need to do that and therefore everyone is on a level playing field.

I have heard the same about the mixing of tweak and jack. I am sure there is alot of things that go on behind the scenes though. If that is what someone needs to do to win, they will do it. whether its with compound or anything. Some people just feel the need to cheat i guess.

Mason,
Don't use the touring car one. Get the 07 competition and don't install the heat sink.

If they are messing with the sauce why not let the tech people know about it. They can take a closer look and if they detect anything they can dq them. Although now if they get caught they are going to suspect that you ratted them out since your post here.

Tire tweak is odorless anyway. To be honest, I really dont care too much about it. Those guys would be faster than me anyway. Plus, It is very hard to prove anyway.

I've not seen jack the gripper so i'll throw this one out there. There's a way to measure viscosity.. whether or not this would be financially and/or timely feasible for one, or effective is up to the peanut gallery.
