Jony wins TecRace

The first edition of the 2007 TecRace, organized by the Spanish Team Orion distributor Tecrotec, was not a normal race event like we all know; the intention was to make the drivers faster by fueling them with knowledge and technology, making them understand better the car set-up, motor set-up and its maintenance, and use this information at the track afterwards for maximum performance.
In tech sessions of 20 minutes Team Orion-CRF engine specialist and World Champion Adrien Bertin, as well Euro A finalist Darren Johnson, explained the drivers their know how. This was greatly appreciated as many made notes in their 2007 TecRace handbook supplied by the Tecrotec staff.
With the track conditions being very demanding for driver and equipment, due to the high ambient temperatures as well the heavy wind, Jony Pastor took full advantage of the Tec sessions, with the slight advantage of having Adrien Bertin as World Champion Pitman and engine tuner.
The start was full of action with Jony passing Darren in the first corner, and for the first 10 minutes the challenge to win the trip to the Team Orion and CRF factory in Switzerland was on! It was a great battle with the top 4 constantly changing positions.
