Resistance of Transponder Loop?
#1

Does anyone know what the resistance should be of a transponder loop on a typical RC track?
We're trying to see wether our loop is about to give us problems.
I know it should probably be measured as an impedance but we 'don't have the technology'
Thanks

With the COAX disconnected you should read 470 ohms on the loop. With the loop disconnected you should read 95-105 Kohms from the center pin of the BNC connector to the outer shell of the connector.
Check out this tread....a little more info there.

...in ten years of putting on racers w/ transponders, I've never used a resistor in the wire, I use 22-24 ga SPEAKER wire, cause it's cheap...
I do replace it EVERY race, but since my races are at temporary locations, it usually is DUCT TAPED to the ground..and at the end of the day, I just rip it up and toss it away.
