Default False Peaking NiMH batteries

I have 3000mah NiMH batteries and they always false peak! I am using a Reedy Quasar Charger and i'm charging at 3.5 amps and the batteries ALWAYS false peak every 500 to 1000mah, it's ridiculous, I don't think I have ever fully charged a battery on the first attempt before.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

Thanks

Default False peaking

I think maybe you should check your voltage threshold. On my turbo 35 I use .03 per pack for smh 3000's and .05 for sanyo 3000hv's. If your using something similar voltage threshold wise then maybe it could be due to the actual voltage of the power supply and or 12v battery.

If anyone has suggestions please post.

I had the same problem I charge on a novac millinium at first I used the recomended threshold rate >>>>no good <<<<< so I bumped it up and I also charge at 5 amps the peak at 6 just before I race the batts are nice and toasty and full of punch . I run sanyo 3000

My Sanyo 3000 HV's always falsepeak, if I discharge them too low.

Another tip, make sure your batt's are in good contact, (meaning Solder joints), and make sure after you race, clean the batteries with a brush, (old tooth brush will do the job). And try those tips.

True, decent wiring can make a huge difference.

i got some sanyo 3300's and gp 3300's at first they always false peak. then i charge them again anyways. if they false peak again i just run them like fully charged batteries until you can almost feel they are running out. then charge them again.

if they always false peak then i dunno

I should also mention that when I charge the batteries they heat up a LOT, they got so hot to the point where I cannot even hold them.
