I'd be happy with another 2S balancing harness just like the one the Core chargers come with. Is there any way I can buy just that one part?

Thanks Adam!

By the way, this was my inquiry and allerc's response:

Hi,

I'm looking for a 2S JST-EH connector to make a balancing harness for my Core-RC charger to balance my Orion lipos.

Do you carry any 2S JST-EH connectors?

Yes, we do.. we have a single multi-adapter with sockets for 2S-6S packs using the EH connector, shown here:

http://www.allerc.com/product_info.php?products_id=3160

...and the sometimes-required connecting cable:

http://www.allerc.com/product_info.php?products_id=3704

We also carry the individual 2-6 cell EH adapters. To see these on our web site, go to the Quick Find box (halfway down, left side, main page) and enter HP-LB10EH. The single adapters are intended to plug into the Hyperion balancer or to the balancer port on Hyperion chargers.

Regards..
Bob
ALL e RC

I clicked on those links, but am not sure if those products will work...

I actually have one of those adapters here, and they will not work, but if your looking to charge your Orion on the Core charger as I saw on a different thread you can use this...

Yup, that's the article I followed to try to make my own harness.

I either want some extra connectors or just an extra harness like the one that comes with the UDC-20 so I can have a spare in case I mess up...

What about part number CR031? the Core RC charger connector set, or is that just the "power" connectors?

Matt,
That is just an assorted set of charger leads for Tx Rx micros etc not balance leads.

I found a supplier for the connectors, I only wish there was something pre-built.

Here you go, DIYers!

After doing a lot of research, I've come to the conclusions that given the Core UDC-20 charger and balancing harness it comes with:

The Core charger and the harness connector that plugs INTO the charger are JST-XH.

The Core 5000 lipo battery balancing connector and the harness connector that plugs INTO the battery are JST-EH

I was thinking, if all the plugs are JST-EH, then why can't you plug the battery into the charger directly without the harness the UDC-20 comes with? (You can kinda jam it in there, but it's not a perfect, direct fit)

Am I right?

Just go to www.precisionrc.com and buy a WKZ2002 - ready to go no soldering and messing around to do $5.50 US.

cheers

That is correct...if you have a Reedy, SMC, Align, Eflite, etc pack with a JST-XH plug, then you can just plug the battery straight into the Core UDC-20 charger (no harness needed).
