Handling Sensored or Sensorless both is a technology in MANY ESCs, not just Traxxas's. Ex: Mamba Max, Quark, MGM, etc... so many. It's nothing to boast about
i know that quark has a sensored system but its sensored only..

mamba max is not sensored buddy... its sensorless..

umm.. as far as a race system..

when do you need more than 12 volts for a race??? id LOVE to see what stadium or buggy class you run int with 12 volts..

also. you dont have enough evidence.. and truefully i belive this esc will surpass the gtb. just because of its versatility.

so.. have any more dumb.. half proving yourself wrong comments about this system..

do i need to explain amperage and ohmage. and what lipos and break the whole electric thing down for you cause if you read the specs. and you say its lacking.. i personally think your nuts ..

I have to chime in on this nitro freak. Nobody said it was a race system, but it is a doorway to mainstream acceptance of the technology. I to was disappointed it wasn't a new electric revo or jato, or even a system for them, but that is no reason to say its junk. You're main argument on it being junk and useless is that the motor is a 3500kv, that is for the 3s freaks that will buy it. The mamba max 5700 will do 3s but it gets hot HOT, with a bigger heatsink and a lower KV motor, the traxxas system has a chance of surviving back to back 3s packs all day. the sensor port is for those who want to try racing at a sanctioned track to pay for only a Novak, GM or LRP motor and be legal. and the biggest one, lack of programming? it has more programming to prevent people like you from putting 4,5, or 6s lipos on it and complaining about it being junk, because the mamba max can do 5s with a UBEC, sorry this is not a MM its a traxxas and they set up things for the people who don't want to or are starting out. And that last point is why i think this guy is a nitro freak.

Sorry for the bad typing, its not my strong suit and i try to keep my posts short because of it, but i needed to say something

Anyone notice that is a slotless motor? I guess this makes it pretty clear that both technologies are here to stay. Do you suppose ROAR is listening?

Thanks for the jabs guys.

Do you mean as in no cage like iron thing for the windings, More like fegaio type as opposed to Novak/Lrp type?

We had to make HEAVY mods to the Bandit to get it past 70. We attached 2 railroad spikes to the front bumper! We had to use 2 pounds of extra weight on the front bumper with the Stampede.

There is some evidence that the Traxxas motor has at least a partial stack in this view. I have found this stack to be important for motor efficiency in my testing. I have tested two completely stackless motors, the Trinity N60 and the Mamba 7700 motor. The pic shows the Mamba motor interior without a stack and on the right a Novak 3.5 R motor with a stack and slots. Both views are the back end of the motors (non pinion side).

When you plug the MM in to your computer and look at the device name, it's "mamba maxx". Period.

I am very curious to see what temps people will get when they run the setups in traxxas' speed guide there. While yes, 70 may be obtainable it may also be at the expense of extreme temperatures limiting you to 2 or so high speed passes. I would like to see how their system performs at reasonable temperatures of a sustained period. Will be interesting to see.

Also, it seems so many forums have people bashing traxxas new system. I wish people would just see it for what it is.....a system intended for people who want to take their car out back and mess around, or take it to the local park. I think that is the market traxxas aims for and does a great job with it. Of course it is not a losi/AE with a high end brushless system. I don't think it is fair to compare it to that because those cars are aimed at a completely different market. IMHO
