You can use the Tamiya Lightweight 46mm bones with the Tamiya inserts (53500) in the Serpent axle.

I've read a lot of racers looking to replace the front spool for carpet/foam...my setup was precisely what the initial build called for with 4* castor blocks used instead of the 2*. I changed nothing else. I was running parma tires @ 57mm, Plaid front and Purple rears. I'm going to try Double Pinks all around this Sunday at the Barn and experiment with these tires at LSRCC on Dec. 2.
I have a very limited knowledge base of chassis brands and setup; TC3, TC4, NTC3 and now S400. The Snake was a blast to build, and even more fun to race. The car felt silky smooth from the first lap.
I am already in the works for a second one to replace my 19T FT TC4 (which is now for sale). Should be built by the Dec 2 LSRCC race

Diff Rebuild
Ok, Im not all about rebuilding my diff after only a a couple runs. I would like to at least get a full race day out of it. The rear diff seems to pickup alot of dust, tire rubber pretty fast. Anyone got any tricks/tips? I know the xray has that pretty neat dust cover type thingy. Just looking for your ideas.

change the thrust bearing for Associated thrust balls, keep the two outside retainers, diff should be smoother and last longer.
