I posted on RCRacechat about using the Centax 3 Clutch thrust race balls in the diff replaceing the current thrust balls. These are larger, but do not need any cage as the diff outdive holds them in place. They are also ceramic so are stong and very smooth. You can fit all but one in and this gives an unbelievably smooth action and it is very strong too.

Id recommend using these with the standard thrust washers rather than using any other makers parts.

I'v been running a S400 since end of August and I can honestly say I'm very pleased with the car. My only problem was with the diff. I'm definately not the best wrench man out there, so It could be that I didnt have the diff ajusted correctly in the beginning.

Back in September I rebuilt the diff with Serpent ceramic diff balls and a Tamiya thrust bearing from my MSXX. This combination has worked fantastic!

I just got the Serpent S400 from RCCA Magazine to do the write up, but i cant find anywhere in the instruction book and website the Internal Ratio of the car. I'll be running it at Cleveland next week...should be fun!

My bottom plate was not "Absolutely" flat, kind of warped and twisted. I disregarded it and built the car. The chassis stiffens up incredibly with all the engineering put into it. Upon build completion, the car is as flat as a 'toy car' needed to be using my integy board as a guide.

Hey there.

Thanks for your reply.

Well, "absolutely" i absolutely the word I would use here. Actually a bit more in my oppinion.

I attend to build my new car and then I'll take it with the importer and Serpent afterwords if the car is still al wrong!

Not the best start, though.. Had really looked forward to this build - and still do - but can't help thinking...

Still want to hear from others who has exspirienced this problem or if somebody has an idea to flat'n out the chassis plate...

Thanks.
Nicolai

Nope...i didnt have this problem. My car went together beautifully. The only problem ive run into or seen is the diff loosening up when i turn it. Im sure all i have to do is put some lock tight in the nut to tighten up the tightening/loosening action. Im running the car for the first time tomorrow on a parking lot track with a novak 10.5-turn brushless. Should be fun!
