Is anyone running the Orion Platnium lipo in the car? How does it fit?

Ran the car for it's first indoor competitve meet at Carpet Wars. Running in 19t I placed the car 7th on the grid and finished 7th too. The car was excellent, it ran so well. The setup I had was spot on for me and allowed me to 'learn' 19t as I have never driven this before.

Really pleased with the S400 on this outing, was only hoping to be in the top 10 and I achieved that. Now I can raise the bar !

Rug Racers this weekend so more after that

It doesn't fir like it is soppose to like under the bulkhead. But I run one anyways I put it in like a normal pack it hangs off the chassis a couple millimeter and add the extra weight to the inside. I will try to get a pic of it up here soon!!

Just intrested why you guys want to change things like Diffs and Pullys for ones from other cars. The car is awsome as kit and just needs dialing to each track.

Thanks lilb -- I would like to take a look at that pic when you get a chance. Interested to see if I can do something during the inital build to make it fit a little better.

The Orion 3200 fits fine. its the orion 4800 that have a clearance issue. The only way to get them to fit is to dremmel off about 2mm from the bulkhead...not the battery's fault...its the super-low CG bulkheads...its like wives...cant live with them, cant live without 'em...either shave off the 2mm, or use a 3200...or try LilB's set up...

when i ran 5 cell's on my MI3 i changed all the hinge pins ,turnbuckles and screws
also if you are not using the Orion motor already, you may want to get one its alot lighter than novak

Nathan, here's what I'd recommend:

#1- use the Yokomo BD rear diff, w/ serpent pulley so you have the same gearing...this will reduce some weight and rotational mass for quicker acceleration. The Yoko BD diffs will last a long time even with mod and cheaper...

#2- Go for aluminum or Titanium screws, Titanium hinge pins, as Marcos recommended

#3- Use tamiya 46mm rear aluminum bones

#4- As far as Motors- If your running mod- get your hands on an LRP 3.5 or 4.5 motor- they are 165g, which is much less than Novak's 189g, and similar motor. Or my favorite, the Trinity N60, which weighs only 156g! Its fast and runs cool. If you cant get those then run an Orion Vortex BL motor.
If you are running 19T and below, for 19T, run Orion Vortex 10.5 Bl motor...its the lightest. For stock, run the LRP 13.5 BL motor...
