I've been driving with an prototype Serpent spool which uses blades (3mm) but the wear on them is HUGE. After a few runs you see the wear starting and replacing them will be essential, already ruined one of the 2 prototype's I have due to too late replacement.

Instead of dremeling out the current ones, you can use the one way outdrives. These are blade ready, but now you have to drill out the spool (once) to fit te outdrives and drill a hole for the pin. These one-way outdrives are still on the market and even Serpent 720 ones can be used.

Any suggestions in relation to final make up greatly appreciated.
Titanium Racing is no longer, so I would not recommend these, as the spares are as good to get as Serpent originals . I'll see
if I can post some pictures of the prototype tonight.

Jet racing has been producing S400 parts but they don't list them anymore on there website. So might this be ending??
16T's can also be used from Tamiya, there are aluminium ones from the TRF415 of u can use plastic ones with an adapter.

Even though Jet do not list these S400 parts on their web site they are still in stock to procure as i have done in the past. As recent as 1 month ago.

Cheers

Hi,

I only use a spool for the front, the last delivery out of Titanium. One way or diff on the front did not work for me.
Sorry no alloy arms for the S400 but i still have 2 pairs of front arms.

Cheers

TNX YAAL!

They can be hard to get ahold of - but ive been using a gear diff in the front with alot of success. I race on medium to low traction parking lots so I put 40 weight shock oil in the rear gear diff with 2 gears out and I put 50,000 weight diff oil in the front diff with 2 gears out also. It gives really nice off power steering with plenty of rip out of the corners.

I think that the new tamiya "spec R" gear diff will work in the serpent - youll just have to use about 3-4mm worth of shims - which is actually less shims than I have to use on my titanium racing spool. If my serpent gear diffs ever take a dive I will definently be trying the spec R's.

The Spec R gear diff has plastic gears versus the metal gears of the Serpent diff. I wouldn't advise that you remove any of the gears from the Spec R.

The pulley is not removable, it's a molded part of the Spec R diff, so no...
