I guess when it comes down to it 40 bucks shipping is nothing compared to what we've all dropped into this hobby....

I purchased a front one way kit from serpent america direct, but I noticed the outdrives are a bit big for the car's CVD bones... I thought their fit and finish were flawless...am I installing this thing wrong??
u can use tamiya 415 lightweight 1 way outdrives... the one came with serpent (1st batch) r all wrong... it came with it's either 720 or 960 outdrives... (2nd batch solved)

can u list items available here..? i know not suppose to advertise in rctech but ur part list may help a lot of s400 users... thanks...

That is one of the few things still stressing me about the shortage of parts for the S400. Because most of the plastics can be switched to Tamiya or Xray pieces. However, I haven't found a solution for my spool outdrives.

titanium racing is selling their own version of spool for s400 with delrin outdrives... hope that helps...

And if i'm not mistaken they use realistic looking tyres and wheels and very high turn motors....

RCGT uses 17.5 with 2s lipo. Same speeds and gearing as stock in some areas.
VTA uses 21.5 / 2s. So yeah they are intent on keeping it slow and light. For the noobs and the casual racer.

I've read some bad things about ordering from Titanium Racing. Plus, it's not that cheap and ordering from the UK every time I needed outdrives would be a hassle.

I'm trying to find a solution that either keeps the S400 spool or uses a spool from another car where it's easier/cheaper to get outdrives.

Thanks - I just ordered one. They shipped it out right away, hopefully I get it soon because my aluminum outdrives are going.

heres something I tried, Im wondering what you guys think. I grinded out the slots in my spool outdrives with a dremmel so they would accomodate the blades. so far the wear has been reduced. has anyone else tried this.

Im concerened that using the blades will decrease performance or that grinding the outdrives will weaken them

i see, i guess VTA bodyshell might not have sufficient aero help for faster motor... should be fun for leisure... in short n tide track might be very competitive too...

realistic tyres like those from tamiya..? isn't it costly to run then..?

maybe someone can try 415 spool outdrives or 415 one way outdrive (drive holes for the pins needed)... can't get from rc mushroom..?

I've tried a couple different outdrives. The TA05 is what I am going to try next.
