Same calculation:

Number of teeth on spur divided by number of teeth on pinion, multiplied by car's internal ratio (S400 = 2.187).

93T spur
__________ = 1.86

50T pinion

then multiply the 1.86 by car's internal drive ratio: 1.86 X 2.187= 4.06

Default how to convert 64pd spurs and pinions into 48pd and the other way around

its very simple just take tha number of tooth and devide with the pd you have and X it with the wanted pd

100 tooth 64pd spur
64 = 1,5625 X 48 = 75 tooth 48pd spur

so if you are told to use 93 spur and 50 pinion in 64pd you get 69,75 spur and 37,5 pinion and then you use 60/70 tooth spur and 37/38 pinion
the wanted gear ratio is 4,0
69/37 = 4,079
69/38 = 3,972
70/37 = 4,138
70/38 = 4,029

hope it helps

Default S400

Hey guys,
did my first meeting with my new serpent. Keep the original setup from book and just made the belt looser cause I running a silvercan stock 540 motor.
4.0 gearing. Did 11, 5m 16

Was 2 seconds near my best track time [ done with my old xray]. Changed my tyres to 28 and gearing to 3.84 and did 11, 5m13. that was awesome!!!

Very quiet car and easy to drive...

Now Will work to make it faster..

Any tips from the pro????

Talk about back to the future. These are are just like the old Losi drives you could upgrade to. I ran them on the XX4 for a bit but the wear on the parts was extreme. In the end I went back to the regular CVD.

i dont think the xray driveshaft can be use on S400 as their length is 50mm-52mm .

S400 only can use 46mm and 48mm...

OK, I will ask again. Anyone know more about the S400 foam addition part number 400002? What changed? Is it just the standard S400 with the foam update kit? Does it have the new CVDs?

Yes, I believe Serpent is planning on giving full support. As you can see in www.SerpentAmerica.com, they already have almost all parts up there. And as Michael Salven mentioned in the interview, if everything goes good, we'll probably be seeing more.

From what I have heard, the rest of the S400 parts will be in stock within 2-3 weeks. I believe this include complete kits.
