TeamButter, thanks for the offer to look at my setup sheet. I can't really complain as I am now consistently in the A final at my club since getting the S400 but think there is so much more to the car.

A look at our track may help as well;

And the notes in case they don't come out in the JPG;

1mm spacer under rear hinge pin blocks, 0.6mm under front.

Sorry, if I said 55 on there, I meant 600 front and 500 rear. I use Kyosho oil so that I can get a large variety of weights. My car was just transferring weight too fast with the other changes, so to make them more useful I just thickened up the damping.

Here you go...

I do like it as it seems to generate more grip than the kit top deck. If you look closely you can also see were you can add stiffeners - I have added a front one using parts from the XRay T2 kit.

I should mention, for those that were not aware of the UK top deck - It is not the top deck that comes with the kit. It came out of Serpent UK - the distributor for Serpent in the UK and was designed and created by John Russell and the UK Serpent team.

Randy, any chance I could ask you to have a look at my setup sheet with a view to getting a bit more cornering speed - I suppose it feels like it is lacking a bit of mid corner steering.

Mid corner steering is probably the hardest to find, but I have a couple ideas.

First off, by using the UK upper deck you would need to alter your setup to get it to work. It looks like it would flex a lot, compared to the stock one which flexes very little. If your chassis flexes too much, you will scrub speed in the corners. I would try back to back runs with the UK deck and the standard top deck, as I honestly think you will get some of your cornerspeed back by stiffening up the chassis.

Other things to try would be a longer front camber link, I could see your current link getting into the corner very well, but dumping over too much throughout the turn.

Try your swaybars in the outside holes on the arms.

Try .5mm anti-squat in your rear end, this will definately help the car rotate, for some, it is too much though.

One simple thing to play with would be camber adjustments, start off by using less rear camber before you use more front camber.

Give those changes a shot, I've got plenty more for you if they don't work.

Randy, thanks for the ideas, much appreciated.

We race every two weeks (and our race was yesterday) so I will have to wait for two weeks to try these out!

Randy, me again... when you say "Try .5mm anti-squat in your rear end, this will definitely help the car rotate, for some, it is too much though." does this mean adding a .5mm shim under the front of the rear hinge pin mounts. In my case I am already running 1mm shims under both mounts at the rear to raise the roll center a bit - should I be looking at adding .5mm or removing .5mm from the rear?

I originally raised the from .6mm and the rear 1mm to get more grip.

Anti-squat would be raising the front rear pivot mount. Honestly I think you are scrubbing so much speed because your car has too much grip all together though, need to lose some of it.
