It's worth a shot, could be good on outdoor tracks.

Is the M body for asphalt or carpet? What surface will test on?

What about them EAST COAST bodies for asphalt?

Hi guys,

anyone knows if it's possible to remove two gears from the gear diff for brushless modified purpose? I've been reading about removing them for stock class, but is it possible for modified as well? I'm using 3k cst gear oil.

Besides that, I'm having difficulties gaining steering action with the s400 on large open high grip asphalt tracks. Especially mid corner my car is slowing down. Feels like to much roll. Any good suggestions? I still use the stock setup, but some directions would be nice. By the way, I'm driving rubber (sorex 28, soon 32).

Some other driver is using thinner suspension oil and softer springs in the front and thicker oil and harder springs at the back. But this seems quite weird to me, cause you're throwing away all the basic setup guide lines (harder in the front, softer at the back).

Are there any other options or is this the way to go?

Thanks in advance.

2 gears is no problem in the diff with a mod motor, they are strong enough to handle the power.

I will have a large high bite track setup done in a week and half when I get back from the Reedy Race. Until then, don't worry so much about setup guidelines, sometimes things dont make sense, but they end up working..

Hey Randy, anyone else in the west coast that will run Serpent with you?

The M body was designed for rubber/asphalt racing. Going to be running it at Kissimmee Raceway.

We have Nigel Sim that runs 1/8 nitro, but has come out to the track to run his S400 a few times. Jessy (sp?) who is one of the admins on here runs down in San Diego weekly and comes up to Bending Cornerz (my home track) every now and then. And you just bought a car from my newest convert, Jon Kerr So the snake pits are growing out here!

Will Easton not be in attendance?

I guess I misread the first post, I thought it was referring to my local track..

For the Reedy Race, Billy is confirmed on the invite list, but from what I heard a couple months ago I will be the only Serpent driver in attendance there. Not 100% sure if he's coming or not honestly.

Yes, I meant for the Reedy Race and ROAR nats also...sorry

So then it is true about J Kerr and Serpent? Awesome

So Jon wont attend the Reedy race this year?

For the invite: it should be Billy Easton for sure...but maybe Nielsen, also? What
about Butter? C'mon Butter, someone's gotta represent the FLA and the HIA

I was wondering what would happen to your shock position. The shock angle will change right? Or should you compensate it with spacers or some other off-set construction? To illustrate: the position of the shocks on the shocktower will stay the same, but if you move the suspension arms (in your case to the front) the shock's bottom position will change, i.e. there will be an angle. How will this influence the driving caracteristics?

And to continue, how do you compensate (if you do), or how will the driving caracteristics be influenced if you move the rear and front suspension arms to the rear?

Hope I didn't ask to many questions.
Thanks

For the ROAR nats I know both Billy and I will be there.

Kerr is picking up his car on Saturday, he drove my car a few laps after the main this past Saturday and that's all it took.
