Sorry it it seems a bit obvious, as I've only just thought of how you could have done it.

Once the price and dates are announced, I'm having one.
Yes you've got it spot on!

For those that want to keep their existing number they can have it added in to their PTX as a cloned custom number, that way they don't need to switch numbers when they race.

Terry,
YHPM

I'm going to wait on the ptx rather than have you fill my order for iPT's

Terry just to make sure i understand .This transponder can be setup just like the T1-10 transponder ???
If it is then we can buy these and allocate car numbers to club members for the heats ,for the finals we can then tell the respective drivers there new car number and they can just change it on the Transponder.
It will be compatible with the AMB20 system but with each member having his transponder fitted to his car.No need for hand out transponders, flat batteries etc and it gives our AMB20 system a bit more of a lifespan.

I'm sure Terry will answer it better, but I don't believe these will work with the system 20. They are to totally different systems (ones digital, ones analog)

Interesting, what he has done!

Hi razzor, I'm not sure why the T1-10 is not what you need because it's basically a PT for the older AMB20 system. As Ed says the AMB20 is analog so a T1-10 will work on any of the 10 numbers used normally for the handout (house/loaner) transponders.

The PTX will only work with the digital AMBrc and AMBrc3 systems, not with the AMB20.
Basically you need one transponder for the old AMB20 and one for the newer AMBrc/AMBrc3 systems, you can't get one that will work with both.

Got it Terry ,thanks
Problem is club members wont be prepared to pay the price for a T1-10 transponder and then when the club does upgrade to later system it becomes redundant. Also for teh price they would rather look at a AMB PT or IPT and look at the club upgrading the system.
With the PTX being possibly cheaper by half it was a shot in teh dark
Thanks anyway.

Hi D1drifter, no ETA as yet. As soon as we know when we'll be making the date known, there's still a few things to finalise.
Ok so if you just buy a PTX your going to get a generic 1 through 10 like the old style transponders? If you get one cloned then it will match your AMB PT 7 digit number? Or are you using 10 cloned 7 digit PT numbers? The first is only good for club loaner transponders...the last would mean that after the first 10 are sold we'll start seeing duplicates all over the place.

How would it be a problem? Unless you're racing somewhere that allows more than 10 racers in a heat, and all of those racers are using a ptx, then there won't be any conflicts. Unless I read incorrectly, the ptx doesn't have one set ID #.. it has the entire set (1-10). You simply change the transponder id# to one that isn't being used in the current race.

I see...I wasn't understanding that the numbers were selectable. As long as it is easy to tell what number you have selected that's cool.

sounds good, i want more that one, if we want say 20 + would that be easy, so as soon as you got the PT post it up and i will order, got to be better than the club ones with dead batterys and the $100$$$$ to get the batterys replaced

The numbers are all 7 digit ones and selectable. Serzoni is right about the numbers. You select a number that's not being used and it's easy to know what number you're on. On the standard PTX there's 10 numbers available plus any custom cloned numbers you may have.
