Default R&D Jobs in RC

I've just finished my degree in Automotive Product Design so now I have to stop dossing around and find some proper work!

One of the things I'd love to get into is Research and Development into RC products. Is there anyone on here who currently does this kind of work? What does it involve? Have you a need for CAD and CAM knowledge? Got any jobs going? ( )

Cheers, Chris.

im no expert here, but would it be possible whilst searching for work to try to innovate something in the rc world? then put a proposal forward to a current rc company as a form of showing you skills?

once again no expert here but is just an idea.

good luck in your search

It might be worth getting a job in full size automotive R+D, then as and when look into the RC market, as these kinda jobs are probably even harder to find than their full size counter partners.
Just depends how desperate you are to start earning a wage I guess? We all would love to have a job we truly enjoy, but few of us actually get it,lol

I would go on R/C companies websites. They usually have Job postings on there. I have seen them on Pro-line, Losi, AE and Trinity before.

Dreams,dreams... What day is that lottery win predicted for? lol

Seriously, one of my friends went to Uni for 3 years doing a motorsport engineering degree.

He worked in a clothes/food shop in out of term time for a little money then hit it big and the last I heard he worked for Williams F1 as a wind tunnel technician

The sky's the limit if you put your mind to it, with a little lady luck.

Keep in mind that R/C companies generally pay about 1/2 what you will get paid in other industries. You have to really love R/C to make it in the R/C field. Eventually if you are good and are with the right company you will make money....it just takes a long time.

On that note, guess who only went to college for a year and ended up in customer services

Still,i'm doing an GNVQ in customer services at the moment, so things will get better. Hopefully get into supervisor or management level one day.

MrJolly, you're just lucky.... until winter, then you'll be part of the hedge, frozen hehe
