Xray: Barry and ray brushed. Ralph and I Novak brushless... I think paul has been switching back and forth but I think he's settled on brushless for now.

Corrally: Toso Novak Brushless, Blackstock and Dayger brushed.

I am pretty sure the scumacher guys are all 5 cell brushed as well.

Clint Riley (of Losi fame) is running brushless but I think he's running a 6 cell setup.
How were/are they positioning the 5 cell battery? Front or back? Or are some running a 5 cell chassis?

Some were running it back, others were running them forward. Those who ran it back, placed the receiver in front, to help off set the weight. Some racers might have put 6 cells and only soldered up 5. Some ran it forward to get more weight up front.
I guess it all depended on what the drivers liking was.

Thanks to Doug and the whole SIR crew for stepping up and hosting this race. The traction was amazing with very little tire wear and they put together a really tight, challenging layout. Thanks to ROAR and the RMT for doing such a great job. There were a couple of rough spots along the way but ROAR and SIR always managed to work it out. Thanks to OD and the crew for the dialed car, Team Kwik for the awesome EP cells, and Parma for the killer Pro38 tires. Thanks to all the Norcal crew especially Steve Ashby and Jim "Mr. A-Main Car Setter Downer Guy" Rose.

-James

Yeah, typically moving batteries forward will create less steering going into the corner due to less overall weight transfer to the front (because it's already all up there). Typically when you shove all the weight forward the car will be really smooth and easy to drive when comming off the throttle.

You old guys race DIRTY! I remember turnmarshalling one of the masters heats and it was total carnage! kamikazee lawn darts at every corner.

I thought age was supposed to mellow you out .

Not as bad as hearing your car get slammed and broken in the exit of the sweeper at restart of 3A
