Default LRP Quantum heat sink

how do you mount the heatsink on the quantum ?

they come with a thin piece of 2 way tape like servo tape but much thinner

ahhh...mine was second hand so i didnt see the tape...kind of stupid design dont you agree ?

that is how most heatsinks are mounted now!

wat happen to the metal part sticking out and you just clip it on ?? wat was wrong with that design ?

the trend today is toward smaller escs. most of the newer escs (gt7, keyence zero v, quantum) dont have the fets sticking out of the case where you just clip on the heatsinks (ala cyclone, v7s) i also had a 2nd hand quantum but i cannot find "thermal transfer" tape (maybe radio shack has those) so i just used ordinary thin double sided tape. im not sure if the tape is as efficient as the one originally designed for the task, but i didnt have a problem with the esc nor the heatsink coming loose
